Out of his jurisdiction.
You do wash your gear, don't you? I'd hate to see how the other avatars in the room are feeling if you're stinky! |

The Bolts are officially sellers
Kubina might be one hell of a fit, a top 6 big bodied right handed shot on the point. Something the Flyers haven't had in a long time - Buts16
He apparently has a limited NTC but you figure he'd be willing to come to Philly as a rental before becoming a UFA this summer (although it should be said that Kubina previously refused trades when he was in Toronto). There have been times in his career where he's been a really fine player, other seasons where he's looked disinterested. As long as his partner has good mobility and can move the puck -- because Kubina's main assets are his size/feistiness and his big slap shot and his limitations are his skating and outlet passing -- he'd be a good fit.
Wouldn't mind seeing him paired with Carle for rest of season if the Flyers were able to trade for him.

Many other teams are probably waiting until after the weekend to determine if they're sellers or not -- hence the lack of activity thus far. |

As usual bang on and I was thinking Carle would be a solid fit as a partner.
He's an odd duck but he'd be a solid fit.

I was playing the air drums in my truck on the way to work, it wasn't safe but I was impressing everybody in the other cars I'm pretty sure. - Buts16

If the Flyers win tonight I believe they will make the Sabres officially sellers.
The Wings have an offer on the table for Gaustad already, he'd be a great fit in Philly as well. |

Good point. So many teams are alive still, that it's hard for them to justify to their fanbases that they're throwing in the towel on the season. |

Heard the Wings were in on Hemsky, too. They've got a lot of cap room to play around with. Scary thought. |

Yeah, Goose does a lot of good things and could really help a lot of different teams. |

It helps when Ian White steps in and plays like Brian Rafalski. |

Always been a fan of White. But playing alongside Nik Lidstrom makes a lot of guys look better.
Look what Suter's done for Shea Weber.
Chara's done for Wideman, and now Seidenberg. And so on... |

Bill, what about adding Greg Zannon for depth, I can't see him costing a ton and he is physical and blocks a ton of shots.
I was also thinking it might be wise to stay away from the Grossman and Gill types. They make so many bad choices with the puck.
What would the cost be for Gaustad and Leopold. Sabres wasted a ton of cash this season and will miss the playoffs. I would think they would like to clear Leopolds 3 million next season. He could be a nice replacement for Carle. I can't see the Flyers paying 5 mill plus for Carle. |

Gaustad and Palsson for sure.
Hemsky has been playing well, he was flying last night from the bit of the game I saw.

Eric Wellwood has been called up from the Phantoms. Voracek still unable to play.

What happened to Harry Z? I thought he fit Lavy's 4th line very well with his speed and aggressive forechecking. |

The Flyers are going to have to make a tough decision, if they don't want to pay Carle $5 million there will be teams that will.
If the Flyers were talking to the Sabres I wouldn't mind if they asked about Marc-Andre Gragnani . |

odd, I like the HarryZ.
Lava must have zero faith in Shelley, I guess dressing Tito and Shelley is just too much of the same.

Very true. I remember when people were saying that Scott Stevens was washed up or had least was not as effective. The Devils added Rafalaski and all of the sudden, Stevens leads the Devils to two more Cups in 4 years. |

If I were another team's GM looking to try to get value for an impending UFA defenseman with a decent track record, I'd ask the Flyers for prospect Nick Cousins rather than a draft pick.
I know the Flyers are high on Cousins. He's got good potential to be a pain-in-the-neck top 9 type of NHL player within a couple years.
