Flyers got Nicklas Grossman for LA's 2nd rounder and Minnesota's 3rd rounder - Jsaquella
I guess MAB is gone when Grossman gets to Philly. GUS is undersized, but he is a better, smarter player and I have to say that when the doom and gloom squad is trotting around the latest scapegoat nom du jour I don't hear Gus come up. Guess he isn't noticeable...which as they say...is great for a defenseman.
I felt that Dallas would wait until the deadline to drive up the prices as guys dropped out, but apparently they were talking to Flyers and Bruins about Grossman and Boston backed off.
They still could have 1st, 2nd & 3rd rounders this draft, too. The Versteeg deal includes a 2nd rounder, but it's Florida's choice if it's 2012 or 2013 - Jsaquella
If im Florida I would choice this year bc they should win their division making that pick less of a loss.
Grossman will only count 1.6M towards the cap, still have room to make some more moves.
This year he had a $1.65mm cap hit. I'd say there's a good chance the Flyers try to re-sign him if he plays well - Jsaquella
Thanks, just curious......I like not having to give up any of the kids. This doesn't have the feel of being "the year" but who knows, 2 weeks could change things.

Grossman's big and young, too. It's not like he's definitely a rental, where Hal Gill would certainly be. Grossman can be physical and he blocks a lot of shots. There's little offense, but he's a guy you can play 20 minutes and not worry about
