ever hear lame @$$ Philly sports talk radio?
They are comical with the phony 4 for 4 garbage. - ggunky
Luckily I currently live outside the WIP market, but that is going to change soon. I have Sirius radio anyway, and very rarely listen to terrestrial radio, unless when I'm at work, then I listen to WFAN. |

Simple. Supply and demand. They set a price of what people are willing to pay. If folks are willing to pay $9 a beer, should the price be $3? - PLindbergh31
Very much this. Going further, there's a lot of economics behind that $9 beer. Salaries, operations, contracts with Aramark and the like. A big production such as a hockey game isn't cheap to run, tickets can't fund everything.
That said, I'm not plunking down $9 for a bud light. |

Up until this year with my NYG season tickets, playoff money was due by the beginning of December. A lot of times you do not even know if the team will make the playoffs at that point. So what happens is if the team doesn't make the playoffs the Giants have all that money sitting in an account, and it collects interest. In a sense that is stealing. - PLindbergh31
You have no idea...lol. I work for a major bank in the corporate sector. And one of my clients happens to be a major sporting league. Anyway, I regress... The money that your talking about not only earns interest in thier account, but they most likely have what is called Sweeps on thier account. Meaning during the US day the money is earing interest, but when the Fed closes in the US, the account doesnt earn any interest... But guess what... When its night in the US, its day time in other countries, so the corporations will sweep all thier money from thier US based account to say Nassau or anyother market and earn interest during the day there, and then at the end of that day, it will sweep to another region and earn money there, until the next US business day when the money is redeposited in thier account.

I didn't realize there was a rule that said a Flyers fan had to be an Eagles fan. Didn't get the memo. - PLindbergh31
You wouldn't be the only one kicked out, if that's the case. |

4 team trade. Flyers get Nash, Stamkos, Suter, and Weber. Not sure what is going the other way, but my sources tell me that Shelley will be staying in Philly. |

Nail meet head! Bang on Sir. When I go to games, I usually tailgate even for hockey games. I use the game to sober up. Very rarely do I have a beer inside the stadium. |

Bec Im a jakass. It has been talked about and discussed on here more frequently than Whitney Huston's death on the news. Probably more so than Shelley being useless.
EDIT: Ultimately it was a poor attempt at humor. |

This further enrages me.
Fortunately for whatever reason, the Giants have a "pay as they play" option for the playoffs now. Meaning you only have to pay for tickets if there is actually a game. |

Schenn was a healthy scratch for Toronto last night, in what was a must win game. - PLindbergh31
And both Nash and Carter are missing from practice this morning..
I have a feeling there is something very big about to happen... Richards/Carter type big but without the surprise element to it |

I'm going to piss you off even more... Your ticket money is peanuts... Lets put it this way. If I was allowed to take .0001% interest on all the transactions my clients make in 1 day, I would make about 10 million per day... |

Possible. Bob M reported that Schenn being scratched was a coaches decision and not trade related, but who knows. Once Nash gets traded, it might cause a flurry. |

Someone should scratch Ron Wilson for a game, he's the worst. |

I mean, if they trade Nash... Carter is sure to follow right? He is unhappy as is, now they trade away their best player and still keep Carter? Makes no sense.

Among Nash and Carter not practicing, and Luke Schenn not playing last night...
"Update: During Thursday morning's skate, defenceman Pavel Kubina was held off the ice to protect the team's interests. The veteran has been asked for teams he would be willing to be deal to." TSN. |

You would certainly think so. Columbus is a mess, they trade for Carter to play with Nash, now 8 months later they likely will trade both guys. Howson has no idea what he is doing. That franchise has no direction. |
