But he would make US better. Seriously, what talent has he had to play with him in Columbus? He's a complimentary star....he won't carry the team on his shoulders but he'd flourish with young skilled linemates.

i like it when buff fans talk to oilers fans and act all superior and talk trash coz they are 5 points ahead of them, when 1 team was 'pegged' to go to the ECF while no one predicted the oilers to make the playoffs...

Columbus gets the D it needs.. but no offensive tools that are long term or top line ready to replace..

Money-wise, it works for all three teams. Jackets would get young offensive talent in Kadri and Lewis with Connolly getting top line minutes until they can add some real offense......along with some high picks to help jumpstart the rebuild. Could be okay for them.

I make this deal. Why? Just like Sundin, Nash has consistently put up great numbers while playing with stiffs.

Not often can you get a 40+ goal guy...and the deal has minimal impact to our current roster. So now you have kessel and Nash both potential 50 goal guys...Grabo and Lupul who are potentially 30 goal guys.

Lots of goals masks our goalie and defense miscues.

It would however mean Grabo is gonezo...

Sundin was the big stud centre we still haven't replaced since he left. Exactly why we don't need Nash, we need a Centre not a RW

Connolly is warming the bench until Colborne is ready. Only was a 2yr contract, another good move not gimping our cap if he doesn't work out

I don't think Grabo is Burkes first choice in resigning him. I think he has that money ear marked for going all out on the Big Zee come July 1st

But if that's what you have to work with, you gotta make the best of it. Is Bozak a #1 centre? Not in the least, but he seems to play pretty much to his potential with Kessel and Lupul......and if we can't swing a deal for that elusive #1 centre, you have to make due with what you got and use your players where they are MOST effective.
