Probably not. Maybe an elite team where the pick would fall in the high twenties. - whipper334
Boston, New york ( ), it could happen. Or at least a good young player/prospect. |

Let's say the trade bait is the same... who would you rather have on your team?
Rick Nash (6 more years at $ 7.8 Million)
or
Jeff Carter (10 more years at $ 5.273 Million) |

you're still missing the top 6 forward and top prospect. Mac and Kadri only fill that bill in TO not anywhere else in the NHL. That's the problem - shmenge
Regardless......... it is not going to take that much parts to get Nash.
It will be somewhere along the lines of the Joe Thornton trade. |

That's a hell of a gamble on the Bruins part. Other than for RNH I would hope the Bruins don't even hear offers for Rask. Cause after him the talent level in Providence falls off of a cliff. - glove_was_stuck
indeed, makes no sense to move him thinking quick will become a UFA. Not too mention the interest he would receive if he hit the open market. no guarantee boston would get him or have the best offer |

Schenn has not even come close to the hype..a career minus..no thanks..if u guys are so high on him, why are all of you trying to trade him in here all the time?? - French-Connection
because they keep listening to local media say he sucks...... he's 22, not even developed yet.... still 3 years away from "getting it" |

Hey bro...I didn't bring up the attendance stat...just sayin.
And yes...it is true...buffalo's record against Toronto is far better which is a remarkable feat given that a game in Buffalo is pretty much a home game for the leafs...for obvious reasons.

I like it for the Leafs, except for 1 thing, with Carter's big cap hit I would NEVER give up a 1st pick, that would be my only deal breaker. Take out the first pick & it gets done. - GCHonda
It would never go down than - not to mention its a conditional 1st, which may not be delivered if the condition is not met (yet we receive the HIGH 2nd regardless).
His Cap is not as bad as people make it out to be. It's $5.6 mil/season for the next 4-5 years or something before it goes down. The movements solve any cap issues, and who knows if Burke can manage to move Armstrong, Komi, or Lombo in a separate deal to increase our cap space?

Isn't Carter more of a shooter than passer. We already have shooters.
I'd take that big body Nash instead of Carter TBH. |

What the (frank)? Why would we give all that up for Nash or Carter?
Nash can't come here. 7.8 + 6.7 + 9.5 = bad. - Blackstrom2
Don't worry, there is no chance in hell Nash would want to go to Washington. |

I make this deal. Why? Just like Sundin, Nash has consistently put up great numbers while playing with stiffs.
Not often can you get a 40+ goal guy...and the deal has minimal impact to our current roster. So now you have kessel and Nash both potential 50 goal guys...Grabo and Lupul who are potentially 30 goal guys.
Lots of goals masks our goalie and defense miscues.
It would however mean Grabo is gonezo... - Asparatrout
So you trade away your young guys and a 30 goal scorer for a potentially 40 goal scorer in Nash? You guys would be screwed. Nash might not even hit 30 goals this year, he is over rated. And his cap hit is 7.8 mil. I would salivate over some of the guys some leaf fans are willing to give up to get Nash. You are better off without him. |

They both are big but Carter has 2.5 mil less of a cap hit and signed for alot of years. He is also a center and you wouldnt give up as much to get him. |

Kaleta's very first NHL game was against the Senators when the big brawl happened when Drury got lit up... and Peters fought Emergy..
Well right before the faceoff which sparked the brawl... you see kaleta and heatley at the top of the screen I think pushing and shoving eachother..
This is when that conversation supposedly happened...
Kaleta forever will be a Sabre to me... |

I make the deal because Nash (while having an off year) has posted two 40 goal years (almost 3 - one year at 38 goals) and four 30+ goal years...this guy is very consistent. While I really have warmed to Grabo...I think Nash would be a better fit given his size and presence. Grabo will command upwards of $5 mill which is a steep price to pay. I just think Nash would be a better playoff performer than Grabo. The question is...is Nash worth 2.8 million more than Grabo a year...hmmm |
