This seems to be the draft to make such as trade. According to one scout in attendance at last night's 7-2 win over Buffalo, this summer's edition is not astonishingly deep. The consensus is that the same player could be had with a late first-round pick or a third-round pick.

It's currently Matt Walker's number. Guess he's out of the equation now.
Walker's new number should be 1.7 for his ridiculous cap hit. |

So you aren't really a Richards fan eh?
I liked the guy, but I thought he was somewhat immature the way he handled himself. - PLindbergh31
He has all the ability in the world. The thing that pisses me off is his attitude and in sports attitude is a game changer in itself. I think he was on the right track early on but somewhere along the line became a spoiled brat, I really feel that. I'll rip him more than I will a Jodey Shelley or Lilja cause those guys don't have ability, they weren't born with the skills Richards has. But Richards has this mopey way about him that seeing him go was a relief. This many years in the league and a C on his chest should have matured him it didn't and I think he might go a ways before he grows the eff up. UGh he just turns my stomach anymore and he's like that bad relationship with the good uh ice cream I'll say that once it's over you're glad. |

I would think that would be the definition of a 'deep draft'.

I don't think you are off base here. Well he's gone now, and the Flyers got a very good package of Simmonds and Schenn for Richards. Excellent trade by Holmgren |

He's basically centering me and you, they gotta get him some players.
I think he had some rookie and Penner as wingers earlier this week - Buts16
Speaking of trainwrecks! WTF happened to his career. He was hot poop a few years back. Now he is getting scratched and torched by the fans. |

Im very happy with the trade.
More so with the Carter trade.
This team was apparently going to have a rats ass chance with those two gone. They were the absolute core. I think the Flyers are fine this season on offense.
I remember a trade idea a few years ago that suggested Kesler for either one of Carter/Richards. It wasnt just Ek it was in the general media. I was one of those that would have never made that trade. Looking back, I would rather have Kesler. |

It was a good play no question, me saying tap in made it sound like a better pass, I'm just spreading some love.

He's a big guy.
To me big guys are a hell of a lot more useless if they dont throw their body around or use it to their advantage.
(frank)ing Kyle Wellwood is playing better than Penner. |

Here's my thing with Mike Richards. I liked him but saw a streak in him which is very prevalent today- he is in his own world. I tried to like him I even went out and got a Richards jersey. But in the end I think he showed us what he is. A nice player that can pitch in as a secondary guy. He's not going to carry a team and will once in a while have a great play like he did in the Montreal series. Otherwise I really think he lacks desire and motivation. His attitude really sucks at times and the Flyers more than obviously made the right move parting ways.
I find it funny he gets into a fight like that after his remarks on Matt Carle getting sucker punched. Something about I don't like fighting and Matt did the right thing taking a punch for the team to win. He's full of crap and only worried about himself. He should fit in nicely in LA. - JoeRussomanno

First in the NHL in goals scored would say they are fine on offense. The other side of the puck is what needs work. |

I think Lombardi needs to go.
Hiring Sutter for a head coach is rediculous. They have some nice players but need a change.
Nash would be a huge boost, and they need him. More than anything though they need a coach that will allow them to open things up.
I'd still love Dustin Brown on this team. |

Depends on how you look at it and compare it to previous years..
Is it soo good that kids in the third round are first round caliber players, or so weak after the first 15 or so that it doesnt really make a difference. |
