yea thats true... i usually dont engage but it was mindboggling how some said they vastly overpaid - Slammed81
What for Grossman? IF so that's nutz They traded two picks that who knows what would have become for a decent roster player coming into his prime in a market that has Dmen rapidly being overpaid. I wouldn't be surprised if bill chipped in with blackmail photos to get Grossman that cheap from the stars. |

They paid a fair price for Grossman...the trouble is, people seem to think this a deep draft filled with Shew Webers...it's a deep draft, filled with Matt Carles, Braydon Coburns and other solid second pair guys.
Plus they still have at least a 1st and 3rd, and possible 2nd rounder still |

YEA he was saying they should have gotten after Moore and we keep giving up picks and were not gonna have any young guys... then he told me that Ray Emery was having a excellent season... i didnt know where to begin |

It would be good and very fair price if they resign him, otherwise 2 draft picks are gone that turn into prospects and who knows. |

EDIT: My wife and I were at a game together last season when another fan kept yelling, "SKATE!" So, we joined him during the third period, except she yelled, "SWIM!" and I yelled, "BURROW!" - Flyskippy

I'm reading this with important matters waiting now Oh how I love comedy Then the guy who made the remark about Lilja not going I argue with him under my articles from time to time.
Anytime you don't give up roster players and get value without giving up early round picks i think the gm did his job. |

If they can re-sign him for under $3mm, it's more than fair. They still managed to keep some higher picks, though, is what I was getting at. |

The Flyers only traded one pick (the LA 2nd rounder) in this year's draft. The third-rounder via Minnesota is for 2013.
Even if there are some future solid D-men in this year's draft:
1) The Flyers need to be the team that selects said players
2) The team needs to develop them -- and it's probably going to take a window of up to three years before they're ready for their NHL debut and up to five years from draft day until they are even starting to mature as NHL players.
Trading a second this year and third next year for a 27-year-old established NHL defenseman is fair market value, even as just a rental (at this point).

we still have plenty of picks too. This deal was a good deal. I got worried Homer was gonna overpay for allen but this is a relief if you ask me. Yes fair price and fills a need. |

I thought the Minnesota pick was this year's...sweet. Considering that the rumor mill had Bryan Allen costing a 1st rounder, then Grossman was a great addition. |

Bill, Do you have any inkling what it will take to re sign Grossman?
Any rumors as to what Dallas was offering that was turned down? |

Thanks Considering they gave up two picks for a defenseman who were supposed to command steep prices, I'm really not sure After reading Panach's tweet about the Flyers being full of NHL contracts I guess a player has to go back the other way. Seeing how we just got Grossman, maybe MAB? I'm not really sure but I think it might be Voracek they go after. Just a hunch and Im no trade guru. |

I work from 11 am-7pm, so my morning is my alone time, and then nights are hit and miss. I usually watch games or TV with the wife. I don;t really get into the shows she watches, so I hang out online while I watch. |

I think you had said this already Bill, but I hope people in flyerdom understand that this guy isn't Suter or Weber coming in here. He isn't a savior. All I'm looking for is some stability. Too much running around in their defensive game... the problem with that though is running around is a team effort. |

That's what had me worried a bit. Just the rumored prices being bandied about. 1st rounders for Allen and Spacek, 2nd rounders + for Gill...not real attractive. |
