Crap like that is why I run my gums here and B/R. This place has some freedom in the posting but even when I think we need more I click on those websites scroll down and read that ignorance. I just read over there. Used to do same here but you guys all sucked me in. Good group here, we don't always all agree here but the conversation is much higher than a 6th grade level. that and the man's blog whom we speak under is A1 |

Hal Gill to the Preds - bradleyc4
I was interested in the Flyers acquiring him, however, I think getting him became moot after getting Grossman.
What is the general concensus here? Flyers done? Minor move? Big Move? Forward/D? And to those of you out there that think they will make 15 moves, keep it to yourself (you know who you are). |

#preds trade for Hal Gill. Give up Geoffrion, Slaney and a 2nd round pick in 2012. #preds also get a conditional 5th rounder. |

Haven't seen the return yet for the Habs? How does it compare to what the Flyers paid? |

That's what had me worried a bit. Just the rumored prices being bandied about. 1st rounders for Allen and Spacek, 2nd rounders + for Gill...not real attractive. - Jsaquella
Aside from the Bryz contract, which minus a NMC would be a good contract, Homer has been doing a heckuva job as GM. We got super value for Richie and Carter, the Jagr signing and Talbot have served their purposes, lilja was like going shopping for a donut spare to your car so no biggie, then this. Leaves the team with plenty of pieces and cap-space to make another move that Imo could put us over the top this year and years to come if cards are played right in re-singing these guys. |

Hard to say.
Best guess is they are done, or could make a minor move to pick up another depth defenseman or checking line forward/PK guy.
I don't think a major move like trading Jvr for a top pair defenseman is going to happen by the trade deadline. |

Not familiar with the players involved (though I think I've at least heard of Geoffrion), but that sounds like a lot for a Hal Gill deadline deal |

Roughly the same. Geoffreion is a solid prospect. From what I have seen from the prospect gurus, Slaney doesn't project to be a regular NHLer |

I don't know now. After seeing now the return Gill got, I'm hesitant to trade for another defenseman. Especially JJ, not a big fan of his at all. Seems clueless defensively and doesn't that defeat the purpose of what we are doing? |

2nd rounder and Geoffrion is a mighty fine deal. Blake won the Hobey Baker award a year ago. |

It's on par with the value the Flyers gave up for Grossman.
So if you believe Grossman > Gill, the Habs overpayed (more). |

I think they are still hunting. My guess is they'd like to land another defenseman, who can move the rock or a depth forward who can help the PK and win faceoffs. |
