Seeing the same thing now with JvR. - Jsaquella
i don't know how anybody can seriously want to trade jvr at this stage of his career. unless it's an absolute no-brainer deal of the century deal, which isn't happening, you let him get healthy and continue to develop.

My one caveat is, if you get a good young defenseman, with a similar upside, signed to a friendly deal. That wouldn't be a steal of the century deal, but a fair hockey trade....the good news is now, in adding Grossman, there's really zero reason to trade for one.

he still sucks. definitely should trade him while his value is at an all-time high. he could probably fetch suter in an even swap. it's always been hartnell's dream to go back to the music city. - hammarby31
my favourite play of the game was Talbot making a kick save on Roy and when Talbot got called for the trip he was pissed
It was like a blatant trip on the soccer pitch and just foolish and Talbot was pissed at the call. What a mess.

i understand the thinking, but i'm still hesitant to move him even for a defensive counterpart. i just want to give him a real shot.

I was cracking up when Gerbe was trying to bull rush Max. Have to give Gerbe some credit. He's game for a liliputian. Have to think he has a serious napoleon complex. The dude is so small it's ridiculous. I think he works part time standing on wedding cakes.

I wouldn't say no reason to make a move like that. It would depend on what you think is going to happen in the off season. a lot of questions about the resigning of the D and what that will cost them. At least in your scenario, you have some cost certainty moving forward

I give him credit for showing some emotion, the Vanek and Roys wanted nothing to do with the Flyers after the 1st period.

I should say that there's zero desperation to do a JvR for young defenseman deal.
The new CBA is going to weigh heavy on future moves.

Fair point. I think the fear moving him is, because he hasn't reached his potential and is just scratching the surface, you won't get equal value back.
If he already was a 25-30 goal scorer, then you have to weigh trading him for a guy like Suter, at this point you have to weigh trading him for an unproven L. Schenn.

I certainly think Schenn is trending in the right direction, but again its just a slower progression for the majority of D men.
How much better would Schenn look right now if he was on a different team, with a different system and different linemates?
same thought as this kid on the knicks.
