Let me ask a serious question, when was the last time the Flyers negotiated a trade in which everyone knew everything about it before it happened? This whole Nash thing wreaks of a smoke screen.

The Flyers have now set their D for the run (Timonen, Coburn, Kubina, Carle, Mesz, Grossman).

One of two things are going to happen in my opinion. A completely unexpected offensive player will be acquired... or Coburn+ will be traded to Nashville for one of Weber or Suter.

Call me crazy, but this whole Nash thing does not jive with the way the Flyers operate.

Why would he be a filler? He is now the 6th and final d-man for us. The rooks now get moved down to the Phantoms and are call ups if needed.

I really don't see them giving Carle a 5 yr $5+M contract.
So he was probably gone either way.
