That's Ek's department. But a lot of rumors are of Flyers looking to add a third goalie (yes, the dreaded three-headed monster). - bmeltzer
what, recalling leighton isn't a good idea? |

I think that's the next step for some of these guys.

I'm not ruling anything out. Holmgren has shown he isn't afraid to make moves, and big moves at that. Nash doesn't make sense to me, but I have to admit he could be a monster playing with Giroux. - PLindbergh31
Nash only makes sense in the "it's rare a guy of this calibur is available via trade and I'd like to have him and Giroux over the next bunch of years" kind of thing. It'd have to be a long term kind of outlook...
...which is totally counter to doing stuff like getting Kubina IMO. |

The second goal looked like the kid who is picked last in Gym class and thrown in goal because no one wants to put the equiptment on. - PLindbergh31
his glove was a good 8-12" away from the puck. he wasn't screened. it wasn't terribly hard. it was from distance. i don't know how he could have missed it that badly. his body language was terrible all day. |

Grossman and Kubina are an attempt to solidify the D in front of the goalies. Grossman is the one that might stay after this season. I doubt there are future plans for Kubina.
They need to get the lot of the team to dedicate themselves to each game, no matter the opponent or the time of day. Keep it simple - no cutesie crap like blind passes - and focus.
Bryzgalov's "I'm trying to find peace in my soul so I can play in this city" line has me concerned. I think the team should send him on a spiritual outing to sit with the dalai lama, and the sooner the better. - tangent_man
We all watch the Flyers closely, Flyers haven't had a commitment to overall team defense, there have been breakdowns, and lapses due to inexperience. That being said the goaltending simply has been beyond awful. The Flyers have a team save % below .900, in today's NHL that is simply non-competitive. Limiting the soft goals would go a long way curing all this teams ills. |

@HowardEskin - u are correct. This trade for Kubina w/o giving up players still puts Nash very much in Flyers mix
He's the only reason I feel this Nash thing is legit, the douche. |

I've been a Bryz supporter all year but that goal was horrible. I closed my eyes and just shook my head in disgust. I dont understand how this guy cant make that save. |

Honestly if it was Kalinski for a pick or future considerations, I feel it would have been announced with the Kubina trade.

Maybe he'll announce that he's going to go on a walkabout to find himself and return to the team after that. If he's thinking he'll find peace in Philly, he didn't do any research beyond checking the color of Philly's money. Dear god, he must be pining for Phoenix. Although I doubt Phoenix would have him back. Their 2 mill/yr goalie is playing better than Bryz did at any point in his tenure in the desert. A classic nature vs nurture debate there.

Agree with you. Nash's cap hit and contract length would really hamstring the Flyers going forward. That's the main reason I'm against it. |

Wouldn't call him a hitter but he can be feisty at times and is another real big body back there. Can still blast 'em from the point, too, and the RH shot helps. - bmeltzer
Bill, just say one of these rumors comes to fruition, do the flyers hold up the announcement becausevofvthe carnival?

I hate all this talk for Nash. There are very few players on the roster I for one am willing to part with and then there are players on the roster we flat out need. |
