his glove was a good 8-12" away from the puck. he wasn't screened. it wasn't terribly hard. it was from distance. i don't know how he could have missed it that badly. his body language was terrible all day. - hammarby31
I was shell shocked that puck went in the net. That's a shot a beer league goalie eats for dinner. |

We all watch the Flyers closely, Flyers haven't had a commitment to overall team defense, there have been breakdowns, and lapses due to inexperience. That being said the goaltending simply has been beyond awful. The Flyers have a team save % below .900, in today's NHL that is simply non-competitive. Limiting the soft goals would go along way curing all this teams ills. - PLindbergh31
Absolutely. Nothing squelches a team's fire than a lax effort by their last line of defense.

One more time. CBJ is pushing Nash to Flyers. Not other way around. Although flyers would like to upgrade in goal even in backup

Unbelieveable. How does that happen? I understand that goalies let in a soft goal every once in a blue moon but that goal was brutal. |

Thanks Panaccio. I hear the Flyers are going to make a trade so they can get to 50 contracts, just a feeling. |

its puzzling how mason went from breaking a single season record of shutouts by a rookie to being a bum |

Nash is tempting. He certainly plays Flyers Hockey. If we don't re-sign Jagr or Voracek, then Nash works. However, you don't want to screw up the chemistry of the team for him. |

JVR, Bob, Coburn/Carle should get Nash

so far, the flyers have given up 2 2nds, 1 3rd, 1 4th for 2 defensemen who the flyers most likely would have to overpay to even resign here. This is one reason why the flyers haven't won the cup. It's one thing to trade for the final pieces of the puzzle every couple of years but they continually forgo drafting in order to "go for it" every year whether it's realistic or not. - Flyers_01
Dude they still have a 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round pick this year. What is the problem? Seriously? Grossman is 27. I like that deal much more than the Kubina trade, but he's a righty and has a good, hard, shot. Personally, it was getting tough see players like Mezzy and Carle struggle because they had to take care of their jobs and another's on the ice. They have 6 vets that can now be a unit. How much longer could the team go on giving up 3,4,5,6 goals a game? Hopefully this instill confidence in the D as a group and will bring confidence to the goalies. What I'm worried about is Nash. I'm afraid we will tear down the team again for a guy who makes Crosby money, who isn't (when healthy) Crosby. |

I really think the team was in shock. They showed Talbot on the bench for a sec, and he muttered something. They were on the same pp when Cooke scored, and I think everyone was still flustered. Not that this explains Roo's retarded pass.
What was the last time a Flyers team gave up 2 shg goals on the same pp, let alone one that became a 5-on-3? |

dude on another hockey board posted this.
guys do not shoot me...like i said earlier i highly doubt we will land Nash BUT...I did just tune into 610 WIP (local radio station in philly) and the rumor now is that the flyers/BJs have worked out the majority of a deal and only are discussing a 3rd portion of the package heading to C-bus. Here's what they said is being considered by both teams:
To Columbus:
JVR
Bob
Coburn/Mez/Read/Couturier
To Flyers:
Mason
Nash
They said that columbus really wants coburn as well. |

Maybe he'll announce that he's going to go on a walkabout to find himself and return to the team after that. If he's thinking he'll find peace in Philly, he didn't do any research beyond checking the color of Philly's money. Dear god, he must be pining for Phoenix. Although I doubt Phoenix would have him back. Their 2 mill/yr goalie is playing better than Bryz did at any point in his tenure in the desert. A classic nature vs nurture debate there. - Flyers_01
I would imagine that it's been a strange trip so far.
- Upon signing, management loves that they have another character in the room and tells him to 'be yourself'.
- Media has a field day with some of Bryz's offbeat comments...management tells him he'll only speak on game days, which the media cries about and gets it reversed.
- For 24/7, Bryzgalov opens up again, but doesn't play in the big game. We know what happened there.
- Bryz starts answering questions simply, keeping his character to himself, until the 'soccer net' comment. Oh, boy.
The guy just doesn't know which end is up right now. This season is a mess for him. Hopefully he figures things out and gets settled down for next year, because that's what it looks like it's gonna take.
