its puzzling how mason went from breaking a single season record of shutouts by a rookie to being a bum - mydoglicks
Not at all. Its quite simple. His names Ken Hitchcock.
Its the same reason why Brian Elliot, who couldn't stop a beach ball last year, is all of a sudden a (frank)ing All Star. |

Nash is tempting. He certainly plays Flyers Hockey. If we don't re-sign Jagr or Voracek, then Nash works. However, you don't want to screw up the chemistry of the team for him. - Schenn2shine
maybe the talk betts into retiring so that he doesn't count? |

guys do not shoot me...like i said earlier i highly doubt we will land Nash BUT...I did just tune into 610 WIP (local radio station in philly) and the rumor now is that the flyers/BJs have worked out the majority of a deal and only are discussing a 3rd portion of the package heading to C-bus. Here's what they said is being considered by both teams:
To Columbus:
JVR
Bob
Coburn/Mez/Read/Couturier
To Flyers:
Mason
Nash
They said that columbus really wants coburn as well. - flyfan1212
I hope Mason comes back and played like the best goalie alive. |

I really think the team was in shock. They showed Talbot on the bench for a sec, and he muttered something. They were on the same pp when Cooke scored, and I think everyone was still flustered. Not that this explains Roo's retarded pass.
What was the last time a Flyers team gave up 2 shg goals on the same pp, let alone one that became a 5-on-3? - PT21
Both short handed goals were extremely soft goals. Of course you don't want to give up chances against while on the PP, but those are saves that have to be made. If they are it's a different hockey game. At 2-1, Fleury made 2 or 3 saves that kept the game from getting away from Pittsburgh. With slightly above average goaltending this year, the Flyers are neck and neck with Detroit and the NYR right now. |

Someone tweeted that the Flyers have until tomorrow afternoon to get a contract off the books so that the Kubina deal can be finalized.

That literally makes no sense. They are similar dmen signed for the exact same cap hit. |

How the hell does Nash fix the problems the Flyers have now and in the future?
It doesn't, let's move on. |

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is wasting little time trying to address his biggest need, blueline depth. Having recently added Nicklas Grossman from the Stars, he adds another experienced depth blueliner in Kubina. A tidy return for the Lightning. It should also be noted that moves the Flyers up to 51 players under contract, league limit is 50, so we can expect another Flyer to be on the move soon |

NO! F off............ - aosplayo
JVR, Bob, and 1st. That's it. They don't like it, let the Rangers have him. That said, 7.8 (frank)s this team in the future. Terrible (frank)ing contract. |

Absolutely. This makes sense for a young team looking for a leader. We have enough leaders in this locker room, and G will be our Captain. No need to bring in Nash, blow up our youth, and tie up the cap for years to come... |

It's probably Kalinski getting moved for a 6th round pick or something to that effect.
The defense core now has 6 veterans on the blueline, it should be a fairly solid group once they play 5 or so games together. It's all about the goaltending now. If it gets better Flyers can challenge, if it doesn't they are first round fodder. |

Different team principles. Atlanta didn't have Kovy defensively responsible. Nash in Columbus plays better defense and had even less talent around him. Would take Nash over Kovy any day of the week. |
