How the hell does Nash fix the problems the Flyers have now and in the future?
It doesn't, let's move on. - flyguy12
He doesn't, and it's a pipe dream because of the cap. The players named in all the rumors are all lower-salaried players: JvR (last year of ELC), Schenn, Couturier, Bob, Read, Coburn... how many of these guys would it take to make the trade cap-neutral? The Kubina trade officially kills Nash to Philly at the deadline anyway. Move on indeed. |

It's just unfortunate that every time Bryz poops the bed there is a riot with pitchforks
Out to get him. The only goal I had a problem with was the first. |

Bill,
Do you think Bryz is bouncing back from this year? Or is his head mush?
Homer certainly has the balls to cut bait. |

If it costs them Schenn or Couts, this will suck

It's probably Kalinski getting moved for a 6th round pick or something to that effect.
The defense core now has 6 veterans on the blueline, it should be a fairly solid group once they play 5 or so games together. It's all about the goaltending now. If it gets better Flyers can challenge, if it doesn't they are first round fodder. - PLindbergh31
really impressed with grossman's strength today. |

Report out of Canada flyers Acquire D Pavel Kubina from Tampa pending league approval. Still won't be done. Want Rick Nash from Columbus. - mydoglicks
What sucks is, this is the only way that a Nash deal makes sense. We're at 51 contracts with Kabina and I'm sure a deal for nash will cost a few contracts going the other way. |

Voice.Of.Reason
With the Kubina move the Flyers have very little cap room now.

Thank you. I mentioned that earlier as well. Need to move $ to get $.
If they make a blockbuster make it for a goalie like Miller (not saying he's available).
I'd like to see Gaustad's size and grit down the middle and see that type of move made before a type of block buster. |

I don't think that would be the case. If it was, I think the deal would be announced by now. Plus, who would trade a pick, even a late one, for a guy that nearly never played again and doesn't project to be an NHL player anymore? I've been known to be wrong before tho. |

You have to give to get. I agree though, I like them both. But if I had to pick, Id probably keep Cooter over Schenn. Not by much though. |

The D acquisitions could also be stockpiling so that another one of them could be moved. I have no idea, really.
The Kalinski scratch reeks of him being next, and that's a nice option to have. Finally. It's been a while since the Flyers had a relatively full slate of NHL forwards and could deal from Adirondack without potentially hurting themselves.

No Movement Clause - Tomahawk
I think getting Bryzgalov to waive the NMC might not be hard. He may believe he's not cut out to play in this town. Especially after his comments after the game.
I think the more unlikely situation, is finding a team to take his contract if he did indeed agree to waive the NMC. |

They can't make a blockbuster unless it's $ for $, and the only way you can get that w/o ripping holes open on the roster is to trade one of the high-dollar players on the team, but wait, they all have movement clauses.... Kubina and Grossman are probably it, unless they deal Bob for an "upgrade" behind Bryz.

Absolutely. This makes sense for a young team looking for a leader. We have enough leaders in this locker room, and G will be our Captain. No need to bring in Nash, blow up our youth, and tie up the cap for years to come... - steelydan
I don't know...we have started sooo many rookies this year and they have performed well, but appear to be fading. I would take Nash and Mason if they would take Bryz back in the deal (but he has an NMC I think) with JVR and Carle / Coburn. |

Agreed. Unlikely as it may be Nash, mason for Bryz saves cbj money |
