At leasr I can say I saw this coming a couple days ago, although I thought it might be gill and kubina.... for Johnson... or Schenn... But I knew we were getting 2 defenseman...
My question is... What is going on with Columbus... are we really in on Nash.. Or is it Mason.... Is Bryz getting traded, or is Bob? WTF? - RooNosHockey
No clue at this point. Anything can happen. But getting Nash will gut the core of this team, and will be a cap killer.

Fair points. The second trade depletes more draft picks though, leaving the cupboard somewhat barren of second round picks.
And if the goaltending doesn't significantly improve these trades won't amount to a hill of beans. - PLindbergh31
The cupboard was pretty barren anyhow. That second rounder might not even have been a factor this year. Florida has to decide by the morning of day two of the 2012 draft if they want to keep this year's pick or keep 2013's.
The second part is what worries me. Both guys were brutal today. No way to sugar coat it. |

homer may be forced to move bob and get a diff b/u in here in the unlikely event that bryz implodes in the plyoffs... |

Yep. It's beyond small sample size at this point. Transition period is over. I don't have an answer. It's easy to simply say the play will improve, or they need to be better, but at this point I don't see it. Others have mentioned a change with the goaltending coach. At this point it might be worth a look, because there aren't any other options. |

Mike Smith had another great game tonight. It brings him to 2.28 gaa and .928 sv%. I think the Flyers got the wrong goalie from Phoenix.
I would actually have to see a goalie not play well in Phoenix at this point to not believe that the system and commitment to defense they have there is not a big reason why their goalies play so well.
Mike Smith is a bonafide Vezina finalist with the Coyotes while the Flyers seem to have gotten the Tampa Bay version of Mike Smith in goal. |

At this point, I figure they need to just ride Bryzgalov. If Bob was playing like he was earlier in the season, then there'd be a viable option. But he's been for poop since the break.
You brought in Bryz to be the man, play him until his balls drop off or he gets himself fixed. |

As crazy as this sounds, I would call Garth Snow and see what it takes to get Nabakov. His cap hit will fit. |
