This Nash thing has to many legs. - jesustouchedme
its a smoke screen to get sather to overpay. The Flyers have to trade big money to get Nash under the cap. Who would that be? They aren't trading 8 players to get him.

Why would Homer have 2 separate meetings to smoke screen? |

if homer traded for Nash w/o getting a goalie alternative, I'd want him fired. nothing would make any sense, there would be no semblance of an organizational plan...just flailing in the wind. |

Who are they going to move? Put a realistic trade together and I'll believe it then. The #'s don't add up. |

It would have to be a 3 team trade b/c if it's Mason I will vomit. they'll be putting Homer in a dunk tank of concrete @ the carnival. |

You could trade JVR and Voracek and Carle/Coburn |

And then you've basically negated the Grossman and Kubina trdes. |

Then during the off-season you can sign Suter |

Well honestly if Homer had 2 meetings with Columbus, hes got a plan to get under the cap. |

from what I've read, it's CLB pushing the issue, not homer... |

He can't without creating other holes in the lineup. Carle doesn't have a ton of trade value as a FA. He might get picks but he's not gonna get a big name player back. |

I hope it doesn't happen, but if Eskin says the Flyers really want Nash, and Columbus is pushing Nash on the Flyers. It sounds like a couple.

I posted last note that I could envision a scenario where LA and CLB get together w/ us involving players like Nash, Bernier, jj, JVR, bob, carle, et al. that's about it. |

Only thing that leaves me confused is Nash's list of teams. Why is Columbus pushing a deal with Philly if Nash doesnt have them listed as a team he would play for? |

Lilja's fine as the 7th defenseman. He's better served there than Gus or MAB. |

Right, it's hard to get the price up on a player when there's only one team in the negotiations. If Howson can get Sather to think Toronto and Philly are involved all of a sudden Sather needs to pay more to keep Nash out of a rival's lineup. I still think it's not a big bluff b/c goal scoring isn't what ails the Flyers. |

actually, carle would be the best dman traded yet if it happened so he could get a significant return...but only to a contender. CHI would prob pay handsomely at this point for example. then homer could use that pick(s) as part of another trade. I know this is a far out scenario. |

LA needs to shake it up. Shut out again last night. Maybe they will petition to move to the East so they can play the Flyers more.

He's a pending UFA, what team is gonna give up a stud player for him?
Carle offers much more to the Flyers in their lineup then him being dealt. |
