I agree without you are saying. Timonen was frustrated with the goaltending, and made his feelings known. Same way the fans are frustrated and making their feelings known. - PLindbergh31
I'm more bothered by the need to crucify young leaders of the team for showing some loyalty, making statements to motivate, to the point they're publicly lambasted as apologists. That they can't stand by their teammate without being scrutinized en masse for it is disappointing to me. |

The d seems to be really stacked for the stretch run, easily the best top 6 since Lava has been coach. The forwards have to do a better job of helping out in the defensive zone, and stop with the low risk cross ice passes in the offensive zone - I thought Richards was in LA?
Lava has to ride Bryz this road trip, I don't want him protected against the Jets. |

It's more in a state of constant cataclysm. Think of it like a Michael Bay movie, where the everything in the world explodes in each scene, yet there's still more to blow up in the next scene. |

Personally I don't boo anyone. Just don't see the need to, I understand why fans do it to voice their displeasure. Does it help? Probably not, but it shouldn't hurt.
Fans are paying to be entertained. It's not all that different to going out to dinner. If the service is bad, and the food is cold, should the consumer just sit on his or her hands, or should they voice their concerns to the attention of the waiter? Fans don't have access to speak their gripes with Holmgren, or Laviolette, or the players, so their only recourse is to either stop going to the games, or booing if they are unhappy. - PLindbergh31
Then cheering them shouldn't help and there should be no such thing as a home advantage and no one should expect one. |

I'd take a top six with a healthy Pronger over ours right now anyday. Not to say the corps isn't fairly stacked right now, of course.
I agree, ride the hell out of Ilya. |

Briere would just point to his playoff stats, as well as bringing up the fact Gomez has two goals in a Calendar year, and Drury is off coaching Little League baseball.
Seriously though, he's had a down regualar season. hes missed games due to injuries. Briere makes his money in the playoffs. Sure he hasn't lived up to his cap hit this year, but he's on pace for about 45 points. So there has been some production. - PLindbergh31
So if the flyers dont make the playoffs, briere doesn t get paid? |

I didn't see anyone do that. Did the media paint Giroux and JVR as apologists? I missed that, but it wouldn't surprise me because like I said I don't feed into the atrocious mainstream media coverage that follows the team.
I don't have any issues with JVR and Giroux backing their teammate, nor do I have a problem with Timonen voicing his frustrations.

Giroux & JVR should have never been asked about the goaltending, the media does have a job to do, but those questions are for Lavy & Homer, not 2 young players on the team |

Pronger was awesome in the cup run, but with Kraijeck and Parent the third pairing was painful. If the goalies can just make the routine saves, I expect the defense core to do the rest, the club has certainly added some size on the back line in the last few days.

Agreed. People clapping & screaming and artificial noise being pumped into a building doesn't have any impact on the outcome of a game.
Familiarity with the rink, last change, and sleeping in your own bed/not being jetlagged have more to do with why teams win at home. |

Lots of opinions. Flip a coin. Im more excited about hearing the next ridiculous trade rumor that involves the Flyers. |

Exactly. If the Flyers miss the playoffs Briere will be moving into the projects in Camden. |

I actually disagree with this sentiment. I've been to plenty of Flyers games where they were not the favorites, and they pulled out a victory because the fans were going. |

What? What did you call me? Son, you're forgetting yourself. Don't you ever mention Briere's contract to me again, you (deleted)! Not in this office, not anywhere! |

Briere has had one of those seasons where you have to sometimes check the scoresheet to see if he played, maybe Jagr can get him started back up. |

He certainly does a lot of aimless skating in circles on some of his shifts.
