Top Unit:
Hartnell-Giroux-Simmonds
Timonen-Voracek
Second Unit
JVR-Briere-Jagr
Carle-Kubina
Possible 3rd unit:
Schenn-Couturier-Read
Timonen-Kubina - RooNosHockey
As a matter of fact, now that everyone is healthy, maybe we can take Giroux off the PK, and just use Schenn-Read, Couturier-Talbot, and Spot duty from Voracek.. |

I think my only wonder is what side Kubina will play on the PP, if he plays on the PP at all. Right or Left. - roenick97
Well G is definitely going to stay on his side, so if Kubina goes to the top PP unit he will be over where Voracek/Jagr were on that unit this year... |

I'd put Kubina with Kimmo and put Mezzy with Carle. I like Jake but he is not a guy I want on the back end on the PP if there are better options. He isn't going to make the PP unit, but he sure could break it if he is back there giving up short handed chances.

If Laviolette had any intentions of doing that, I think he would have done that last game and he didn't. I agree with it cause the last thing we need is G getting blasted with shots but I don't think we are going to see it. I hope I am wrong.
Adding a guy to play with Talbot and Couturier on the 4th line who can kill penalties may not be a bad idea at the TDL... force Lavy's hand a bit on the issue. |

Morning all,
I've got an interesting Flyers related story from my weekend at a work conference in Quebec City.
Was there with other military people from accross Canada.. ran into one of my buddies who is a Detroit fan and knows I'm a Flyers fan. Saturday morning, he says, "I am gonna make your day.. come meet this guy who works at my unit".. I was like WTF? I go over, and meet a fella wearing a nametag which says Read. He says, this is Matt Read's dad.. I was blown away..small world. We got to talking about Matt and how great this year has been..told him congrats. We starting chatting about the team's play osf late, how Matt was being used in games etc.. He could tell that I am a die hard fan. I say to him, I am going to see them on the March 17th game in Boston. He tells me, some of Matt's family are going to that game and that he can ask Matt to sign me in to meet he and some of the players if I want. I was like YOU'D DO THAT FOR ME? He laughed and said it's no issue. Matt likes doing stuff like that. I told him that if it wasn't a bother that it would mean a lot to me and my GF..(more to me LOL). We exchanged info and he said he'll give me the deets to make it happen.
Also, after the Saturday debalce and the Kubina trade, we spoke again and discussed the issues the team was having etc. He said he had been emailing back and forth with Matt all eveing and morning discussing where he is positioned on the PP.. Such a small world. His father seemed to be a genuinely nice man who is soo proud of his son. I think it is so kind of him to offer to help a HUGE fan of the team his son plays for. Any of you who saw me at buzzgate a few years back know that I am still on cloud 9..because I think I may get to meet a few of the players.. I am crazy psyched!!! Pray it all works out.,
PS: happy with the two moves on D Homer made.. but it takes a back seat to this!!! - Hextall271
Wow! That is fantastic! You are living my dream as a fellow out of town, die hard Flyer fan. I look forward to hearing all about it. Take some pictures for us too!

I don't think you can lump Panaccio and Carchidi in with the WIP morning show. I'm amazed that Keith Jones still affiliates with this show. - Dkos

I'm doubting Kubina plays on the first unit with Giroux and Timonen anyway. I think they like Voracek where he is. |

I don't think the afternoon show is really guilty of the kind of bullpoop that the morning show is into. - Dkos
But Glen is all into the Bryz is mentally weak and will never be able to play here in the playoffs. Really? I don't think anyone who makes it to the NHL level is mentally weak. |

Tim and Frank reporting Bryz took a shot off his hand... doesn't he play goalie? What is he doing? Standing in net with no glove? |

Well.. Voracek really doesn't bring anything to that unit... if we are being completely honest about it lol
Only issue with Kubina being added to the top unit would be that he is a right handed shot, so putting him where Jagr was would be tough to set up that one timer.. |

The fact that he got his glove in front of a puck is the news.

I would rather Voracek on the top unit, then Mr. "Just a bit outside" Meszaros on the PP. |

while that mentality--i paid good money for this, so i want a good result--is human nature and i understand it, it tends to snowball into the stupidity we see daily and as consumers, it's tough to find a comparable market. if you get a bad meal and you female dog, they comp you. if you buy a shirt that has a hole in it, you get a new one. that's obviously not the case in sports when you see a loss or piss-poor effort. - OrangeBlack27
Because you aren't paying for a win, you're paying to watch a contest. That's true in any sport. And the only folk I remember ever guaranteeing anything were the piss-poor Florida Panthers.
You don't get your money back if you don't like a movie, or play, or concert. If you won't be happy if you don't see a win, don't be a sports consumer. |

The fact that they knew which goalie was in net impresses me. Are they sure it was Bryz? |

Outside of maybe the last half hour when I at work, I stopped listening to the morning show about a year ago. Angelo is a complete bumhole on air. i can't stand that show. - nastyflyergirl
I stopped listening when he divorced his first wife and went from a bit funny but still knowledgeable to a slavering whore master. |
