Yes, which is why I notice, and allow it to frustrate me so intensely. Outside of that I cant say I have ever said anything negative about him. Lets both watch for it over the next few games and then we can re-discuss it. A lot of times the only thing it does is kill the flow, but it has hurt us on the scoreboard occasionally (pens game). - jak521
I feel it is a weakness, not just of kimmo but of all the point guys. No one seems to be in position on the point to keep a clear along the boards in. |

the ice has looked really bad to me at the WFC recently. Pucks bouncing every which way. that certainly doesn't help. |

Cataldi looks like Philadelphia A's pitcher Chief Bender. I hate to mention them in the same sentence because Bender is in the Hall of Fame while Caltaldi is a merely well paid buffoon. |

Don't know where your post on Ang went, but I was going to say, "If the 'deep end' is Providence, RI, where he is from, I wish he'd go back." |

I will never forget when Larry Bowa -- not without justification -- profanely ripped the fair-weather nature of Philadelphia fans, saying they are the worst fans in sports and that, for such allegedly knowledgeable fans, knew nothing about the working of a baseball team. That happened in 1980.
Bowa got booed the rest of the regular season. He got booed when he was introduced before Game 1 of the NLCS against the Astros. He got booed before Game 1 of the World Series against Kansas City.
Then Bowa went on to have a great WS and the Phillies won their first championship in 97 years of existence. Suddenly all was forgiven by the same fans who even booed Bowa when he stole a base in a key September game against the Pirates.
When all that heat fell on Jimmy Rollins 32 years later for saying basically the same thing, it was deja vu. Rollins was one of the few Phils position players who had a good playoff series against St. Louis, too. - bmeltzer
Schmidt could hit a home run in the 2nd inning, the strike out later in the game and get booed.
Philly fans are a 'special' breed of fans.

I don't remember the player, but a couple of years ago I was at a Phillies game where the guy had a hit in his first four at bats (one or two of them home runs) and stuck out in his fifth AB to a chorus of boos. Yeah, you can call them passionate fans, but I'd prefer the more accurate "moron." |

I thought he was a good Flyers beat writer. But on the air his accent and loudmouth became insufferable. For goodness sake, who calls Clarkie "Bobby Clock". |

Lucky Bastard!
I ran into Matt Read's family at the Red Wings Game in Detroit. There were a group of 4 heading into the Joe and they were all wearing Matt Read jersey's. I said to them as we were heading in "Big Matt Read fans eh?" This really pretty lady of the group replies "Yes, these are Matt Read's Parents" with a big smile. I have a certain shyness about not wanting to bother anyone so they can enjoy their game (and their lives LOL) so I I wished them good luck. They thanked me and I walked away.
Some people don't get it though. Maybe I don't push enough but others might push too much. A couple hours before the game I had nothing to do so I headed to the Joe 2 hours early. I found a small group of people in Flyers jersey's waiting for the bus to show. So I waited with them to see the Flyers play. Moments after waiting, Cars and Cars of people showed up looking to get their stuff signed as if it was owed to them. The bus shows up, the players get off the bus and head directly into the Joe (most wearing headphones). Jagr was the only one who looked up and smiled (It was only half the team not the whole team). People took it so personal that they didn't sign anything. They don't seem to understand that we lost the night before and they have to keep their heads into the games.
I guess this is a statement of the difference between myself and some fans. You're very lucky though. If you're lucky to get noticed and get this sort of chance, run with it.
Good Luck to you. - roenick97
We'll see how it shakes down, but if I get to meet Matt, get his autograph and say thanks, that would be a big thrill. I enjoy watching him play. I also am the type that doesn't want to freak anyone out.

My son played with the sons of a couple Flyers last season. Just treat them like you did us weirdos at the BuzzGate and you'll be fine. |

That's cool and as a Philadelphian I can appreciate other accents. It's just that I find it ironic that the oracle of Philly sports opinion has a thick New England accent. "Clockie" for god's sake. |
