It all depends on the match ups. If we had played Washington or Pitt in 2010, we wouldn't have made it. If it weren't for a few key injuries and a rookie goalie choking. And perhaps a timely "too many men on the ice" penalty, we almost didn't make it. I like this team. I like them better with the 2 additions. Are we a contender? Mentally no. Talent wise, absolutely. If they start to believe, play as a team and tough up mentally, a cup could be here in June. Without a doubt. - Deasr1
no doubt getting through to the finals you need favorable match ups. That's in any sport... |

Bring in Leighton. Only guy that can lead this team to the Finals. |

Agreed completely. Knowing his competitiveness from interviews of teammates and watching him for six years I hope he doesn't "cheat" his way through test just to get cleared. - kgrpitt
Indeed. Being that competitive is a blessing and crutch at the same time. He is generational talent. There is no denying that. He needs to realize that Pitt will be there when he is ready. It's not like the team is last in the conference. They are playing well without. Which, I really think they should trade Malkin when he does come back. Malkin plays his best when he is the number 1, not so much in someone else's shadow. They could get a sweet return for him. Be best for both parties. |

I feel it is a weakness, not just of kimmo but of all the point guys. No one seems to be in position on the point to keep a clear along the boards in. - bodiva88
Yea I agree, but with regards to Timo Kimmonen, I was talking about receiving passes and pucks that come to him as opposed to stopping a puck along the boards.. I probably should have clarified. Its funny, since late last season when a d-man on my team pointed it out to me.. it has driven me nuts. It seems to happen a ton when the Flyers are on a sustained offensive push. |

"You know you have a great fan base when they want you to succeed really bad. And when you don’t, they’re kind of pushing your behind like ‘keep going, keep going.’ That’s sort of the way I’ve always viewed Philly."
--Cole Hamels on his relationship with Phillies fans.
Bryz, this should be how you look at us. We are for you, not against you. If you win, we won't care about any of your sillies. Just win Bryz, just win. |

This is where we come to a disagreement! haha When you have Crosby Malkin Staal down the center it creates crazy miss matches and headaches for opposing teams. Malkin hasn't been health for 2 years before this current one. The year before he jacked up his knee he had 113 points for most in the league. Year before that he had 104 (ish cant remember).
As I agree with you when it comes to him putting the team on his back when Crosby is out I think that is what your best player has to do. We haven't had a health Crosby and Malkin the last two years. Year before that Crosby had a ankle sprain keeping him out for 3-4 months. I say keep both and let opposing coaches try to stop that trifecta of centers. |

Throw it up on a photo-sharing site... You can't link from a picture on your hard drive. I think you could even throw it up on Twitter and link from there. |
