patience - don't rush into PT, traction, etc. take a few weeks for things to settle down. use NSAIDs, cold compresses and eventually ( ask your Dr) heat...moist preferred. sleep on your back with a down pillow...nothing that lifts your head too much. use a lot of caution lifting things, turning your head, driving, etc. if it hurts, don't do it!
disks resorb, soft tissue heals. the body has a remarkable ability to heal itself if we are patient enuf. good luck

hah. just get the reusables and no more than 10-15 mins...calms nerve pain down. eventually you can throw the heat in there when your doc says its ok. too soon will irritate the nerve, but a lot of docs recommend using it right after the cold packs ...whatever works.

Burke was his coach in Phoenix, correct? If things don't improve this season I would certainly look into getting Burke if I were Holmgren. I have no idea what sort of a contract he has with Phoenix or if he'd even entertain the idea of leaving, but I'd certainly ask about it unless we're too busy hauling around the Stanley Cup this summer to care anymore.
