he didn't have a good game. but he made 2 great stops with the game on the line to keep it at 1 and to keep it tied. hopefully he builds on that. i doubt it. but maybe he does? - hammarby31
Hope so, but I'm not sure he should even be starting given the last 2 performances. Throw out Bob and see if he puts up a good game. If not, could it really be any worse than 4 goals on 26 shots for a .846 save %? |

It's obviously very early, but the way things look right now, there is a good chance Simmonds might be the better player than Richards going forward. I'm not sure if the L.A. system is hamstringing Richards or what, be he looks like a shell of what he was.
1 goal in his last 25 games. - PLindbergh31
it's shocking that goal wasn't against the flyers. |

They deserved two points. They completely outplayed the Jets. Pavelec stole the Jets a point, and if it wasn't for heroics from JVR, Simmonds, Briere and Jagr he would have stole 2 points. - PLindbergh31
No doubt. Pavelec was amazing in net tonight. The Flyers PK needs to get better. Winning a game can only help Bryz and his confidence. |

Unfortunately, he will be a scapegoat for the rest of the year whether they win or lose. Even if he pitches a shut out, he will be graded how difficult the opposition's chances were, if they weren't very difficult, it really wasn't a "good shut out". - ravishingone
Not true. If he starts playing well, and steals some games he will get his credit. Still 20+ games and playoffs left. The season isn't a washout for Bryzgalov yet. |

So let me see if I've got this correct...
Despite the fact that we tied it up with 10 seconds left, and won in OT, against a team that has had our number for two seasons now, we should not be happy.
And the reason we shouldn't be happy is because our goalie, who has been mired in a funk, and had to have his hand x-rayed today, and was playing in one of the most hostile arenas in the NHL (at least to him), did not immediately return to all-star from and play lights out.
Cool, I got it. Because it makes perfect sense that he would be able to shake off an entire season of inconsistent play under those circumstances and play like the second coming of Patrick Roy. So I totally understand why folks on here are so livid that didn't happen tonight. Perfectly reasonable.
I will immediately stop celebrating and call up WIP (even though it's long distance for me) and start ragging on Byrz just to show my incredible hockey acumen and exercise my right to act like a total idiot.

We have said that an awful lot about Briere during his time in Philly. You kind of forget about him and then

they need to get him going. it's only going to happen if he plays. and bob's been shelled by the jets and didn't fair too well in relief against pittsburgh on saturday. |

The Kings played the Flyers very early in the season at the WFC. Richards had the game winning primary assist in OT to win the game. |

You know what is important? After allowing that 4th goal, he did not allow a 5th.
Bad goals are going to happen, the key-especially for a guy battling his confidnce-is to keep it at one bad goal, and not two or three. |

It doesn't, but you have to just keep playing. It's two points on a night where they nearly got zero. Next game, apart from Bryzgalov playing better, they had better start getting the rest of the PK in order. Among others, Couturier has hit the wall big time since the ASB.

Yeah, I'm on the fence. I guess start Bryz next game and see if he catches fire. If not - and we pass the trade deadline with nothing happening - it's a fight for the starting goalie position and whoever wins gets it.
Bob didn't play well the other day, but he also came into a game in a bad situation. IMO, he deserves a chance to be the man as much as Bryz. I don't give a poop about contracts, only winning.
