True. You have been to a ton of games, so you will see your share of good and bad. - PLindbergh31
game 6 against tampa is the best one hands down, and there have been many others in the post season as well. i've been fortunate. game 6 against chicago would have topped it. when hartnell tied it late, i was positive we were winning that game.
When JvR is at his best is when he take the puck through the neutral zone with a full head of steam and makes things happen... he did it tonight and that's how he was dominant last year in the playoffs. They need to find a way to get him the puck in that situation more often. Dump and chase is not where he flourishes.

That was a great game. 2004 game 6. Primeau tying it, then Gagne winning it in OT.
When Hartnell scored, I thought they were going to win in regulation, when the game went to OT, I had a pit in my stomach and had a feeling things wouldn't end well.
I really want to start seeing JVR with G on a consistent basis. Call me crazy, but I hope to see those two as line mates for the next decade. - LordStanley88
Same here, but JVR has to bear down every game, it's hopefully attributed to the injuries he's playing with & not his head

Exactly. In my opinion, consistency and finishing remain the flaws to his game. He needs to score on those chances that he creates.

when he attacks the net he looks virtually unstoppable. he's one of those players that you can't help but thinking "why doesn't he do that all the time?"

Nagging injuries this year, (torn abdominal & all)

I think a good bit of it is the dump and chase style the Flyers tend to play. Let him get a full head of steam and barrel down the ice and make something happen!
milbury and jr killing bryz on nbc right now. - hammarby31
Of course they are. Now that I've had a chance to digest the game, I actually think it was a baby step in the right direction for Bryzgalov.
The fourth goal was hideous and couldn't have come at a worse time. Other times he was guessing and flopping around. However:
1) I can't fault him on the first three Jets' goals. The first one, he had a heavy duty screen set up in front of him, second and third were point-blank.
2) He kept on competing and made his best saves of the game AFTER the 4th one.
3) He's been in such a deep funk that it would be unrealistic to expect him to get out of it in one game.
Bryzgalov was far from great tonight (Pavelec, who deserved a much better fate, was). He wasn't even good. He was average. But it's a win and hopefully something he can build from over the rest of the trip.

game 5 against the habs to go the finals was a bigger moment but it was a foregone conclusion at that point. game 6 against tampa was just so exhilarating, coming from behind, no defense left at all, tying it late on a crazy shift. i pumped my arms so hard i literally lost feeling in them for about 10 seconds. i felt hungover the next day.
