Of course they are. Now that I've had a chance to digest the game, I actually think it was a baby step in the right direction for Bryzgalov.
The fourth goal was hideous and couldn't have come at a worse time. Other times he was guessing and flopping around. However:
1) I can't fault him on the first three Jets' goals. The first one, he had a heavy duty screen set up in front of him, second and third were point-blank.
2) He kept on competing and made his best saves of the game AFTER the 4th one.
3) He's been in such a deep funk that it would be unrealistic to expect him to get out of it in one game.
Bryzgalov was far from great tonight (Pavelec, who deserved a much better fate, was). He wasn't even good. He was average. But it's a win and hopefully something he can build from over the rest of the trip. - bmeltzer
Totally agreed, the 4th goal would have hit him if he didn't go down, but it comes down to, despite the win, he was outplayed by the other goalie again tonight, (when evaluating his game alone)

game 5 against the habs to go the finals was a bigger moment but it was a foregone conclusion at that point. game 6 against tampa was just so exhilarating, coming from behind, no defense left at all, tying it late on a crazy shift. i pumped my arms so hard i literally lost feeling in them for about 10 seconds. i felt hungover the next day. - hammarby31
that was definitely a wild one, i legit felt lucky that i wasn't in jail the next day |

I thought the game in Edmonton might be the softest game on this four game road trip, but the Oil absolutely destroyed the Flames in Calgary tonight, 6-1. There are no easy games in this league. Have to come to play every night in order to get two points.
Even Columbus managed to get a point at MSG, and they wrecked the Sharks tonight. |

i agree with all of this except your position on the first goal. i didn't like it. i know it was a hard shot from buff through a screen, but it went under him from distance. i just thought it was a shot he should stop.

At least you weren't at game 7 in 2000. As bad as game 6 hurt in 2010, that game in 2000 is still the toughest loss to endure in franchise history imo. |

i was there for game 2, when they came from behind and tied the series. i actually sat next to keith allen in a box for that one. i know what you mean - as that loss and game 7 against tampa still bother me probably more than any others, even being there to watch chicago skate around with the cup on a poopty goal after i spent a fortune on tickets. i've said it before, seeing the cup get awarded was special...even though it broke my heart. |

Jagr said it doesnt matter how many goals the other team scores. Because we can score goals. Playoff mindset? |

2004 bothered me a lot as well. I hate Tortorella, and I believe the Flyers would have beat Calgary, just as I believe they would have beaten Dallas in 2000. |

Anyone else think we could use a 3rd-4rth line big center who kills penalties and wins face offs? I do. |
