JR just ripped a guy on the caps cause he took a puck to the face and he said looked like he got shot...if anyone should know it would be him - Slammed81
Maybe it hurts more if you're head isn't empty. |

yea im glad we didnt trade some kids for nash... should be fun to watch these kids for years - Slammed81
Umm I know, rip me, I think Giroux & Nash would have been unreal together, I know $7.8 million a year, but he could play with a broken arm & knock in 20 next to Giroux |

Schenn is showing some nice flashes. He has games where he struggles, but the kid's a Helluva player. Known as more of a playmaker as a prospect, but he's not afraid to shoot, either. - Jsaquella
Since the Winter Classic, he's looked more and more comfortable with the NHL. I'm rather happy with that Mike Richards trade right now. |

Thus far, they have done pretty much what I expected-added defensive depth at the lowest cost possible. I think that the next piece should be to add a guy who can do what Betts did-PK, win faceoffs, shore up the defense on the 3rd/4th lines.
I don't see getting a premium for Bob.
That said, It's hard to be surprised by the Flyers. - Jsaquella
I would like Gaustad but not for the price there looking for |

They would be. My concerns with Nash are his cap hit and what assets it would cost to get him. He'd be an absolute monster next to G |

I wouldn't be amazed if they ended with a guy like Pahlsson. Dom Moore wouldn't have been a bad addition. |

I figure a bit of that is playing on a Kings team that couldn't find the back of the net for their lives. Of course, on the reverse I assume he shares some blame for that.
Did you watch any of NHL36 with him tonight? |

For that cap hit and how much it would gut our depth, he would have to score 70 to make up for it.

That's all I could think of, the Rangers couldn't afford him with the 3 big $ guys they have, as well, who has more to offer in an enticing package then us? |

I really don't want him for the price he'd carry. Not to say he isn't a desirable player. |

Who actually is available that fits the cap friendly/defensively responsible/ wont kill us in a trade checking forward?
Because I think that could be the missing piece. That all assumes the goalies get their act together of course.
But If they do nothing and go to war with this group I am fine with that.

Not a lot of guys that fit the bill, cap wise. They'll have to trade a body, being at 50 deals. Homer's not afraid to make a deal, though. We'll see what happens, obviously, but I agree, if this is what we start playoffs with, I'm good to go. |

My only concern is Coutrier hitting the wall and becoming an ineffective penalty killer. Read has really struggled short-handed lately, and we might run out of bodies there. Adding a guy like Moen or Gaustad could really help down the stretch and into the playoffs. |
