My only real issue with the goaltending last night was the 4th goal scored by the Jets. Looked like Bryz turned his head (like he was scared) and just missed with hits glove (I believe). He didnt play great but he made some nice stops after that goal and allowed the Flyers to make that late run. They won the game but can you imagine if they didnt. Hopefully he will get better as we go along here. - stveshdy
I think he's turning his head like that to see it, not because he's scared. Kinda hard to see through a mask. |

WOW!
The Flyers played at an extremely high level last night.
They were all over the Jets! Pavelec was awesome last night although I thought he allowed a fair amount of juicy rebounds.
Give Bryz the start against Edm. Let him play and play alot. The Flyers sink or swim with Bryz in net.
Kubina looked solid last night. A couple of turnovers but his shot is something this team needs. A right handed d-man on the Flyers, looks strange. - ggunky
That's blasphemy double g. ONLY Bryzgalov give's up juicy rebounds!! Haven't you been watching? |

I feel very good about JVR. He certainly has made a turn for the better since his return. The way he controlled the puck for that whole play leading up the Simmer goal was reminicent of his play in the 2nd period against Boston in the playoffs (was that gane 3?).
BTW, as frustrating as Bryz has been, it has been even more frustrating to read the mainstream media take on it which is over blown--where EVERY goal is blamed on him. Bill always brings down to earth and plays it even handed. I reamain hopefull that Bryz will come around. I agree that Lavy needs to keep playing him. - FlyersFirst
Just as I think Jagr's illness allowed his groin to heal, I think the concussion allowed JVR's hip to, not heal but, improve. He looks much more like himself now in power and assertiveness. Like he's not afraid to put a foot wrong. |

Don't trade him. He's like a TDL pickup in his own right |

Maybe his hip was being considered with respect to amount of time missed? They were pretty vague on his injury status the whole time. Either way, last night was reminiscent of the Boston series. I just knew he was going to make something happen in those last 10 seconds charging down the ice like a freight train. |

He had that abdominal pull too which really impedes your ability to do anything. He would have been better off breaking a limb than dealing with that. |

Barkan just made the comment that Bryz thought the fans were cheering him. Seriously? I think Bryz's comment would fall under sarcasm. |

Ill be honest.. I think the abdominal pull was the more debilitating of the two. Hip impingment can be a total pain in the ass but doesnt really restrict you to much, whereas an abdominal tear prevents you from doing things you can normally do. |

I agree. That was a fun game to watch. I was screaming my head off. Bryz only let in one questionable goal and was solid in OT. - Dkos

Bill, any chance we add a defensive minded center? I like G and Talbot, Couturier is going to be beastly, but we are really missing richards and betts on the pk. Forward wise |

He is very prongerlike in his game. And with the RH shot its just what they need - Just5
And apparently he wants to resign already so I'm sure we will see some great effort out of him. |

This team completely sucks. I absolutely hate them. We can't even beat the Winnipeg Jets!? In four tries... are you kidding me. Here are the problems:
1. Bryz and Bob are jokes. I think trading for a third time for Sean Burke (or is the fourth time now) will solve their problems. I mean any veteran that a team is willing to throw away could do better then these losers.
2. Kubina and Grossman... These guy are not the answer. Did you see them on that Ladd goal. Blech, trade em back.
3. We need to trade for a checking forward, Rick Nash, a back up goalie, a #1 defenseman, a younger Kimmo Timonen, sign Suter now, pry Weber away from Nashville for Couterier, Schenn, Read, Bob, 3 firsts, JVR, and Giroux if they ask. While we are at it let's change the whole top 6 because Hall, Stoll, Adams, Carter (who we should have never traded; pure sniper) are all available.
4. Speaking of JVR, that guy is a nobody. He has accomplished nothing for a #2 overall pick. Do you guys see him play!?!? Forget trading him for L. Schenn or Nash, I'd trade him for a bag of pucks. Stiff!
5. Did you hear what Jagr and couple of the other guys said?? They said we can score at will so it doesn't matter how many get scored on us. He just called out the whole D and the goalies. And the (frank)er is right. They flat out blow and are causing this team to lose.
I hate this team. We will never win again. Lets just blow it up, fire the coach and the gm and start again. (frank)ing losers.
What!?? They won!? I must of missed it when I turned it off after the 4th goal. Well, I'll see you guys next time they are losing...... |
