I dont disagree. But the key word is Could. I hope he does. I see signs that he could. I just want to see the results more consistantly... Thats all. - RooNosHockey
You might not see these results this season or next season. Scott Hartnell is 29 and we're only seeing his full potential right now. He's finally having career highs and that might be only due to Richards and Carter being traded because Hartnell is now taking on a bigger role. That's the thing. JvR is a bigger player and it does take them longer to get their whole game together. You may not see it this year, next year or the year after that but it will come. All the signs are right in front of us. |

Really good pair of acquisitions for this version of the flyers, between the two of them they can eat up Pronger's lost minutes and the trickle down effect should increase the effectiveness of guys like Meszaros and Coburn who always play better in limited action than when seeing a ton of ice.
Also, Claude Giroux had TEN shots last night. That's ridiculous - I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in the blog, Meltzer.
Love the way this group is put together, If the Sens don't make the dance I'll be rooting for the Black and Orange. - TommyDeVito
No doubt.
The load taken off of the other 4 guys is huge. A fresher Kimmo and Carle will only help.
Less fatigue should equal less mental mistakes, less turnovers, less defensive breakdowns.

Bryzgalov heard an earful during warmups, but he diffused the situation by giving his goalie stick to an 8-year-old boy who held a BOO BRYZGALOV sign. - philly.com article

Hard not to like Bryz when he does these kind of things. He probably made the little terp's night, even as the Flyers hung the L on the Jets. I hope he gets his game rounded into shape and gets hot at that ever so cliche "right time" (read: now through the playoffs). |

Anyone who has HBO check out the Real Sports episode this month. There is a 15 minute feature on the Yaroslavl plane crash. Very sad stuff. My emotions ran the gamut watching this story. from sadness, to anger, to disbelief.
Also there is a segment on the death of Alexei Cherepanov. The negligence that exists in the KHL is mind boggling.

At least steps were taken last night. Laviolette managed to add JvR to the PP without using him at the point. |

I wish I had his email addy. I'd ask him if he's really as stupid as he sounds.
I am not listening to WIP today (nor did I yesterday). I'm just tired of the stupidity. There's more than my maximum daily allowance on HB. - bodiva88
He i reaching epic proportions today. They are ripping Bryz for his comments against the fans. for the love of god. Now when Hartnell embraces the Hartnell down mocking, he is smart and everyone is on board. I took no offense to Bryz saying Philly fans boo him and the Winnipeg fans cheer him. He was being sarcastic. WTF cares?????
I want to say something to Glen but hate ripping another show to him so i won't. Angelo is why I stopped listening on my morning commute and I am this close to not listening to the 10-1 show.
I already rip Tim to shreads. He actually responded to me directly yesterday .

Listening, and reading the garbage all these people spew is doing exactly what they want. If everyone who complained about them, simply ignored them like they didn't exist, perhaps they would be replaced with more competent journalists. |

LeClair didn't break thru until he was 25. Thornton's first few years were pedestrian. God, I recall people ripping Stamkos after his first year. people are just not patient. |

I thought of Cherepanov last weekend following an incident in the Czech Extraliga on Friday (a different sort of crisis but a scary one nonetheless).
Tomas Demel, a player for BK Mlada Boleslav, lost his balance on a heavy but clean shoulder-to-shoulder hit near the boards and his head sickeningly crashed after the initial impact. He was unconscious on the ice for 15 minutes. Thank goodness, the rescue personnel responded immediately and effectively, and the team doctor saved the player's life (he had stopped breathing).
Demel sustained a bad concussion and is done for the season but it could have been so much worse. Had the same thing happened in the KHL, I'm not entirely confident it would have been handled properly.
By the way, the Demel scare is the subject of this week's Across the Pond at NHL.com.

The kid has had no chance with his injuries this year. It's really unfair for anyone to realistically criticize him at this point in his career. |

I'm not ready to give up assets for a stoll or gaustad type. I'm a believer in coots that he is that 4th line center for the playoffs. Let him work through this he should benefit from a healthy lineup |

I hadn't heard of that story Bill. I will look it up and read more about it. Regarding Cherepanov, the Russian doctors knew he had a heart ailment and were shooting him up with injections of substances that stunned me. The arena this incident occurred in wasn't equiped with a stretcher, ambulance, the defibrillator that was used had the zamboni driver running around looking for an extension cord. It was unbelievable how poorly it was handled. I know Jaromir Jagr was a teammate of Cherapnov at the time, during the access you have had to him, did you ever ask him about the incident, or the air travel in the KHL? |

I used to get an Arbitron log quite often. Last time I was asked they asked if I had any friends in radio, which I do, and I was taken off the list. So it doesn't matter what I listen to, it doesn't show up on anyone's count.
But I did tweet Barkann and ask how stupid a local media member would have to be to not recognize clear sarcasm when he hears it. |

In general if people turned the radio dials, didn't click on the articles, unfollowed these folks on Twitter etc, they would go the way of the Edsel.
Responding to them and telling they are idiots, has them laughing all the way to the bank. |

Russian planes represent 3% of the Worlds flights, and are responsible for 40% of the crashes over a period of time (which escapes me at the moment). It's safer to fly out of the Republic of Congo. |
