Back end has promise with Myers and McNabb growing as players. As forward unit gets better so will Ehrhoff's impact on team. He isn't as great as Jeremy White makes him out to be but he is a good player for the role he is supposed to play. Unfortunately for him/Sabres the forward group is not a good match as it presently sits. - Gunner Staal
Hoff has made a couple really nice defensive plays recently. Case in point breaking up that 2-on-1 last night. That was pretty sweet. |

Make no mistake .
M
Miller, the sky is the limit for this guy.
You have to know that the Flyers and yes even Burke has been sniffing around Darcy's office to find out the availability of one Ryan Miller.
Other teams in play for Ryan are Chicago, Dallas ,Colorado and I still believe LA with possibly a swap for Quick or Bernier or perhaps even Anaheim is a dark house swapping out Hiller for Miller with some fringes.
: - TerryPegs
I can't lie, the SoCal angle for Miller makes zero hockey sense for any of those teams. The only reason it's brought up is because of that d list actress. Why would LA trade for a goalie? They will be looking to trade Bernier, not add a 6.25M/yr tender. They would rather pay Quick that money than Miller.
Quick has four 1-0 losses this year.

2011- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jonathan Hberdeau, Ryan Strome, Mika Zibanejad, Mark Scheifele, Sean Couturier... 6 of the top 8 picks were centers.
2010- Seguin, Skinner
2009- Tavares, Duchene, E. Kane, B. Schenn
2008- Stamkos, Bailey, Hodgson, Eberle... Ennis (26 overall)
Teams draft centers and hang on to them. The only other way to get good ones is signing UFA's. There are less and less centers available on July 1st every year. Does Roy produce? Sure. Who cares? If you want to stay the same, we can just resign the team we have. Give them 3 or 4 more years to figure everything out...
Or, you can trade Roy and get a player and a pick in return. Stockpile picks and prospects and package them to move up in the draft. Change the team. Make it better. - keptupl8
tank and it makes it even better...you can get two first round picks

To take it a step farther...
Every Cup winner has had a homegrown #1 Center, look it up.
We are not going to be able to flip roy for a hight 1st round pick. You need to suck bad and get lucky to draft #1 overall, or in teh Penguins case, have the League rig the lottery in your favor.
Crosby would have been ours if they held that lottery selection in public.

I was just giving a 'for instance'. On a side, it was documented last year (Stastny's father was quoted) that Stastny was not entirely happy in Colorado. With yesterdays move maybe he'll be less happy today. IMO Downie is less valuable than Quincey..
Also remember that Roy has a year left on his deal. He doesn't have to be dealt at the deadline. GM's tweak their rosters more in the Summer/offseason. - Pairo11

I agree about the LA/ANA twist but stranger things have happend , the other teams I mentioned as possible detinations for Miller make a ton of sense.
Either way, Darcy has to be talking a ton of phone calls right now and the possibilities are endless until that deadline.

And personally I hope that's the case. IMO the Sabres GM (please fire Darcy) will get a much better deal put together for him in the offseason. |

If you read what I typed , I said Roy may not be moved. I said some team like Washington and or Calgary would have to step up large for Roy.
I know he has time left on his contract , doesnt everyone ? |

I didn't love the Sabres lineup before the year but I didn't think it was going to play out like it has. - Gunner Staal
i was in berlin for the kings game and really liked what i saw, especially the defense. not making excuses but the injuries just dismantled the team physcially and mentally. i guess i'm just confused why a complete overhaul shouldn't take place.

I would love to see the NHL dump the shootout. It was a nice novelty for a while. It is like deciding baseball games with a homerun contest. - SabreSufferer
Or Basketball games with a dunk contest. I've thought that for a couple of seasons now. |

Miller was in the zone up till the one goal he fell a sleep on.No way that goal should of gone in.Id still like to see Miller moved but it means going after a another goalie in seperate deal and maybe in the draft as well in my opinion..Enroths not a starting goalie. |

i blame ryan miller - b0s0o1
In a roundabout way you can. He is 31 years old, the only way this team goes into a true re-build is to trade him and that is not likely.
So yes I agree, blame the Killer........

b0s........ Do you understand who would be making those picks if they tanked? No doubt Darcy would screw up any High draft choice. And besides.. I would not want any team I support tanking.... That is just not how to play the game.... |
