No two game winning streaks in the last 6 weeks. Good lord.
A span of 17 games without consecutive wins. How the hell is that even possible? |

Lets hope that win the other night put them back on track. I think the slow integration of Kubina into the mix on the PP and PK is going to help this team out a lot. I read that he hadn't skated in a week cause TBL shut him down to keep his trade value... pretty good first game for not skating in a week.
Also, hopefully being out on the road for a stretch here can help Bryz. He should start every single game on this road trip. |

Gotta play smart and stay out of the penalty box tonight. Can't give the Oilers' power play any opportunities at all.
That said, any ideas as to which refs are working the game?

I was able to get hold of Zdeno Chara, he claims a combination of the Tim Thomas White House distraction, as well as a Stanley Cup hangover. |

Build on energy from Tuesday and keep it rolling. 23 games to go, time to hit stride. I like the new line combinations for now.
Briere + Jagr had good chemistry and we know Read has the accurate shot.
Schenn + JVR are perfect steamrollers for Voracek to hit in stride
G w/ Hartnell + Simmonds is scary with puck control
Fix the PK and Bryz's confidence goes up! |

It was a character win. 55 shots on goal, all over Winnipeg the entire game. Pavelec kept the Jets in the game, as well as the Flyers futility on the PK, coupled with more soft goals.
Stay out of the box tonight, and make the routine saves and it should be two points in the bank. |

How much did you love Laviolette rolling 3 forwards in overtime? I hope he does that the rest of the season when games get to overtime. Teams know we suck at shootouts so they are gonna wanna get to the shootout... attack attack attack with 3 forwards... throw the kitchen sink at them!
I love that mentality! |

The forward depth is the strength of the team. Flyers can roll 3 lines that can score. And depending who is on Couturier's wing, the 4th line is capable of chipping in offense equal to any 4th line in the NHL.
There are 6 veteran d-men in the lineup now, once they get 5-6 games under their belt, we should start to see an improvement on the blueline.
The question right now is the same question every year, between the pipes. |

If we can fix both those problems/issues the Flyers will be a hard team to beat. |

Wow, that is one hell of a lineup. Our 3rd line I would easily take as a number 2. It looks like we have a top line followed by two stout #2 lines and a 3 1/2 at the bottom.... This is gonna be a really exciting game. It'll be exciting just to see some new faces on the opposing end of the ice. And if that stadium is anything like Winnipeg's (which was fricking amazing. Hats off to you, Jets fans) it should be a very enjoyable game. |

I'll never forget staying up till close to 1am watching a 0-0 game just to see Ryan Potulny end it with 20 or whatever seconds left. A classic |
