It would be interesting if the Flyers wore those and played the Habs who wore these...

Considering the way Carter has moped, Howson did the best he could in that return. - Jsaquella
I guess, but even some of the other moves on the roster, make you scratch your head. Signing Mason to an extension after his rookie year, Mike Commodore was a disaster.
Also, looking at Carter's skill set, a shooting center, I'm not sure how Columbus thought they would mesh, if anything, they needed a center who had a skill set similiar to Voracek (I know he plays wing).

Well, Carter's best year came when he was on a line with Hartnell and Lupul. But yeah, so of the decisions they made on contracts and other additions are mind boggling. |

I still think the worst i have ever seen was that Depietro contract. |

Yeah, a lot of these long term deals seem to really go sour after a few years. Look at Ovechkin? He was a seemingly hard working, happy guy who liked to showboat a bit and have fun. Now he's a moody sullen jackass that is killing the Caps.
At least DiPietro was done in by injuries, and not being an ass |

That's fair. It's got to be tough to be a GM of a franchise that no one wants to play for. |

So, seems Mr. Subban was involved in another fight in practice, or at least a skirmish. This makes four for the year for him (Tomas Plekanec, Mathieu Darche, Louis Leblanc, and now David Desharnais).

They were aggressive all summer, and then nothing went right. I'm still amazed that Carter moped all year long. |

Good point. What's his cap. Like 9.5 or something. He was actually one of my favorites to watch. He could just take the game over and not give the other team a chance. Shame. Oh well. Now we have Bryz till you and I collect social security(if it's around by then) |

Lack of quality tanning facilities in C-Bus was a major factor. That should not be an issue in LA. |

Speaking of contracts, I'm not very hopeful Carle will be back, unless somehow a large contract is moved in the offseason via trade or retirement.
I think he can get $5 million in the open market probably for a lot of years, I'm not so sure the Flyers will bite. I really hope they can sign Grossman, I like his size and can live with his limited offensive ability. If Jagr sticks around, wonder if Kubina will stick around on a short term deal to possibly replace Carle? |

I'd rather sign Suter. |

I can actually see both back. Carle will probably go like a Chicago or somewhere like that. Definitely take a run at Suter. However, he will be way over paid IF he leaves. |

I'm not sure how much he moped all year. He was broken repeatedly, which wouldn't make the transition any easier. If he'd been able to play, maybe he'd have been able to work through it. Instead he's sitting in hockey Siberia. But it is interesting that there's the possibility he'll be traded and he's gotten hot.
And you've seen Jeff. How would you know he was moping. He's got the blankest affect going. |

I dont see the Flyers getting in to a bidding war to keep Carle, so I agree with your post. |

That's the thing that is sickening. Players in all sports that orchestrate their way out of situations that aren't ideal. It's not enough to be making millions of dollars playing a game, it a guys birthright to be in a perfect situation. It really is pathetic. |

I do wonder if being C was a bad thing for him. And if Semin is a weight around his neck. |

Talk about over paid. Semin. We would fit nicely in Buffalo. However, Bryz 3.00 GAA against the Oilers. Time to bring that down with a shutout. |

Semin is Zherdev with a couple of years of productivity before he shut it down and decided it wasn't worth the effort. I still remember a few years ago being at the Vault just as the doors opened and watching Ovie, Semin, and Zubrus in their shower shoes and shorts doing tip drills on the ice. They were having fun, but you knew that this was serious work, too. I wonder if they bother any more.
And I still can't imagine that Ovie hasn't been nicked all year. Today he tried to practice and lasted only a few minutes before having to give it up. |
