From TSN:
After practice, Andrei Kostitsyn quipped that everyone wants to fight Subban, adding that every spat at Habs practice seems to involve the hard-hitting defenceman.
In his 2 year career, Subban has fought 6 times in games and now 4 times in practices against his teammates. Practice hard, but not to the point that everyone in your room wants to fight you. Talent aside, an act like this has a shelf life...time for Subban to grow up. - axemen6
Who has PK fought? In MTL we get the joy of a recap of every practice so curious as to who he fought? Are you referring to when he hit Desharnais a couple of days ago and Desharnais got up and pushed him back? WHat about when he hit Plekanec and Plekanec cross checked him?
It seems that just having words with teammates in practice after getting hit a little too hard is now considered figthing.
The problem is that PK plays hard every shift of the game and every shift of practice and some people don't like that.
As Gill how much of a distractino PK was. When Gill was leaving it was PK that he called last because of the friendship. Not exactly something you do when he is a "cancer" in the locker room. |

This happen on every f.ing team. he morning show on TSN 990 interviews Ray Ferraro, Sergio Momesso, Bobby Dollas and they've asked them repeatedly and there is a consensus. Players have disagreements and push each other regularly in practice.

This deal won't happen. For one thing, none of those players you described Cloutier have enough upside for Montreal to take the risk in dealing Subban for the pick. PK is a top 3 guy in the NHL on any team right now and he isn't close to reaching his ceiling. There isn't really any point in trading him for an unknown asset that MAY be better than him. Montreal needs an added incentive to consider this.
Also, lets clear up a couple of things. Subban is actually close with Pleks (the guy he fought with) and both guys actually said is was just frustration over the season, as many Habs players have expresses (Desharnais swearing in french in a post game interview, Eller calling out everyone including himself and Price bashing sticks). Guys are frustrated because they want to be winning and things aren't working out. I'm fine with that. Subban is liked in the room (especially by our only other 2 building blocks, Patches and Price), contrary to the opinions of people who don't follow the team.
He's not on the market and however disliked he is around the league, he's loved in Montreal. He IS a team guy and and unless Montreal gets an overpay for him, he won't be moved, if for no other reason that it'll cause MTL fans to riot.
Fans of other teams don't want him? Cool, we don't want to trade him. Everyone happy? |

I don't have any issue with teammates having the odd dust up. I put it in a similar category as siblings scrapping...it's part of growing up together. However, if you've got the same individual consistantly in the fray, it needs to be addressed. Subban is going to have a great NHL career, but when it gets to the point that teammates start to sour towards you (see quote from earlier), you've gone too far.

That could be good, if we get GRIGORENKO or YAKUPOV out of it then yes, otherwise no. |

I saw that and a tweet about Dustin Brown for Tom Gilbert...
LA - Gilbert
Edmonton - Brown
Columbus - Wreckham & Omark
Edmonton - Methot
I would be happy with those two deals. |

I'd shoot for Pecks and a 2nd or third for Methot but I'd do it. Brown for Gilbert makes no sense to me. Especially if Hemsky is resigning. |

Step 1: No to Subban in EDM. Not sure what is the drama going on in practice and locker room, but if everytime it's reported and links back to Subban and another...it's Subban. Subban is talented without a doubt, but he's a foundation in MTL. No way EDM 1st round pick and MPS for Subban, forget about even the 1st round pick. Let him stay in Montreal or go elsewhere.
Step 2: "The Edmonton Oilers trade Theo Peckham to the San Jose Sharks for a 2nd round pick 2013 and a 3rd round pick 2012." - proposed trade rumor...doubt it happens, if it does, not for what SJS is willing to give back. Otherwise, I would offer Omark and LA's 3rd, conditional to ANA 2nd if Harding resigns.
Step 3: Resign or go talk to LA about Brown. It's rumored EDM is interested as per TSN, package big and try to get him if EDM was interested.
Step 4: *TRY*to deal him when he's injured. Hopefully Oilers can take a small loss if even necessary for a team to take the contract.
Step 5: Trade some for assets, resign some some AHL team and NHL depth |

Because Cloutier knows that the rebuild with the Oilers would go faster with Subban. But why would we develop a top defenseman for another team? Makes no sense. |

this is way too funny i thought it was a joke when i read the title, so we're talking about letting go of a guy in his second year who put up 38 points in his rookie season 124 PMs, has 12 points in 21 playoff games who has 23 points on one of the league worst/lowest scoring teams and even worse PP, playing top D minutes (ridiculous pressure) and has crazy upside/potential (especially when he starts playing with a non 36 year old turtle by the name of Hal Gill) and all the Habs are supposed to get from him is a 5th overall pick that might not ever come close to what he will likely achieve....
and wait all this cuz he's having an ok year (in any other city and if it were any other sophmore no one would even be talking about it, see Cam Fowler) because 23 points for a sophmore D is actually pretty damn good, lol its almost like you're comparing playing in MTL to playing in i dunno Atlanta....wow anyone remember the John Leclair trade....yeah he went on to put up a few 50 goal seasons...
this is so ridiculous (see retarded) you'll never get Subban for just your #1 pick, the rebuild is around Price AND Subban, they already have Gallagher, Tinordi and Bealieu coming in Emelin is turining into one of the best checkers in the league, they will soon be able to buy out gomez, heck they can dangle any of those previously mentioned prospects and their 1st round Pick and easily get a good forward
you're talking about hitting some sort of panic button that isnt really there....not to mention this is about a team thats only 6 points out of a playoff spot...man i could go on forever about how stupid this whole article is, if you want a subban go pick Dumba and move on Oilers
or while you're at it might as well trade your amazing 5th overall pick for Doughty who's supposed to be far superior to Subban yet has only 27 points in 56 games on a stacked team that should be able to create wayyy more offense than the habs any given night and yet we dont hear about Doughty's struggles....guess what he plays in LA and when it comes to players like him the'res a million excuses made for him but when ur Subban in a market like MTL they expect you to be Lidstrom overnight
chill out with your ridiculous trade, not to mention the fact he's not having a superstar year is GREAT for MTL cuz now they wont have to give him a stupid Doughty contract and he'll have even more time to grow
the habs will already have a top 10 draft this year they dont need to throw away a potential superstar to rebuild, when you have a Carey Price rebuilding can be done in 1-2 years easily
but yeah no try again (Cloutier what were you thinking?), the title should have read 'Ways the Oilers can jack Subban from the Habs' - Habitants98
Talk about needing to chill out. Clouts is just entertaining the thought, its not like hes talking to montreals gm telling him to do it. habs fans these days......

Puzzles me why Oilers would be interested in Methot. Oilers have Sutton which cost less and also rather Tuebert the ice time to grow. Unless we're trading a big defenseman for him, otherwise let Methot stay in CBJ.

If Brown comes on board to EDM, EDM have to ship a forward back out to LA. They are going to be tight against the cap and they now are looking for ways to resign Quick, as it's hear Quick wants a Ryan Miller type deal. Send Jones, Belanger, or Eager over to LA, along with other assets. It'll cost alot to get Brown according to TSN. |

Honestly Methot doesn't replace Gilbert IMO.
That top 4 looks all fine and dandy, but what happens when Whitney goes down? We are left with Petry as the only guy that might be able to bring offense? Methot would be nice for my idea of rolling 3 pairings and I'd take him, but you'd still need to add a PMD. |

Not bad, I'd keep Hemsky now if possible unless EDM and LA still talking...which may lead to Hemsky package for Brown. Subban stays in MTL as he's a cornerstone along with Price of the franchise. The 1st round pick will stay in EDM, 1% chance that it will be traded as Oilers GM won't sacrifice the future for short term gain. EDM can pick anyone in the top 5, just don't trade it. Horcoff, Omark, plus ANA 2nd pick to NSH I would do for Lindback, but considering how budget conservative NSH is, they want EDM to take salary back for Horcoff insane contract. |
