the best part is the "you care too much" comment was from a fan who said it was said to him at the carnival or so the story goes.

who knows if it was really said?

DRAMAdelphia. Bryz had a strong game last night and it still wont be good enough. The offense was no where to be found but will ignore that part of the game.

I would need more than just Brown for Hartnell. Hartnell almost playing at a PPG pace through 60 games and on his way to a 2nd 30 goal campaign -- in addition to the physical play he brings.

will be exactly one more 30-goal season than brown.

Craig Anderson suffered tendon damage in his hand, making dinner.

Here's the guy I've been looking for. Jagr and Kubina played in 3 Olympics together.

Brown is actually a more physical player than Hartnell. I do agree its hard to move Hartnell straight up after the year he is having.

One day I'll love Voracek and the next I'll hate him. Right now I really dislike him for screwing up that 2 on 1 with Schenn last night. He's on a one year deal and I feel he should be tempting enough to the LA Kings. The quality defenseman going the other way would be the issue.

Tossing this out as a hypothetical only. not a proposal or belief it will happen: Would you trade Scott Hartnell for Dustin Brown?
- bmeltzer

That's a hard one. In fantasy hockey, yes. On this team right now, not sure. He is a team guy, not that the chemistry is amazing right now but Lavy holds his work ethic as a pillar for other players. That said, I could happily part with his dumb penalties and attempts to blatantly hurt other players (not just last night).

The fact that it is a hard decisions usually means it is a good trade proposal. Asking for Hartnell to trade his NMC could be poisonous and in the end I would focus on more pressing needs. Pass.

Do you mentor hockey teams?

Ill tell you right now that by putting a "C" a guys chest it doesnt change the dynamic. Timonen will still be a leader. Hartnell- a leader.. G- yup. These guys know who the leaders are.. and just by naming one "head leader" it wont change anything.

I also doubt any of them sit around and think about the "C"

- jak521

Listen, I didn't come here to get in a pissing match with you. Giving a guy an enhanced leadership role, whether it be in hockey, the work world, or whatever can have a positive phsycological impact in the person you give it to, and on those around them.

I view naming a guy captain as more than just stiching a piece of frabric on the sweater, and apparently you differ.

Brown's a fantastic player, without a doubt. It's close.

That's what gets me, is this story has spread and now to many it's "common knowledge" that Bryzgalov thinks we care too much. To take a stance on his play is one thing, but at this point blowing up that story has damaged Ilya's character to much of the public.

Be hard to get Harts to waive that NTC to go to Columbus. I dont think he would want to go to LA with Richards and Carter there. Harts will be in Philly until his deal runs out.

c'mon, bro, puck flipped up on him.

would be nice if he could just bury some of his chances, though. he's so close so often it seems.

I'd sit back. If they still have him in the offseason I'd offer Voracek and Carle's rights.

How many times did it flip on him because I saw him trying to make a fancy move where he could have put it away anywhere. Schenn passed it, Voracek went for an extra move.

Brown has the same in consistencies as Hartnell. While Hartnell probably should have broken out as a consistent 30 goal scorer along time ago, so should have brown. At least Hartnell is well on his way to being a 2 time 30 goal scorer and I have no doubt he'll be able to do it again next season because he's playing within a larger role this season. Carter and Richards getting traded is the best thing to happen not only to Giroux but Scott Hartnell as well.
- roenick97

I wouldnt expect Brown to come in here and pot more then 25 goals a year though. I would expect to play a defensive game. Throw him on a checking line, with some offensive ability... Like Talbot-Couturier-Brown... Checking line that can pot goals... and check the other taems top unit...

You cant do that with Hartnell.

Operative word right there. It's still in the realm of hypothesis. Personally, I have to agree with the doctor, redistributing the C wouldn't do much.

I would offer Voracek, Carle, Bob for Bernier and Brown today.

I dont think the Flyers are a "true" contender today but that could change. I think the odds of Carle returning are slim and I would do this deal thinking about next year and freeing up money to sign another defenseman, possible Suter.

Of course you would expect it but it doesn't mean it would happen. You're a dreamer. By even stating this, you're selling the LA Kings short, who have plenty of skill up front. Brown being traded here doesn't automatically make him a better player. The only reason Schenn and Simmonds get traded here is because they're bombarded with talent up front. The only reason Simmonds gets 20 here is because he couldn't get Power Play time with LA.

I dont know everything that is happening but it doesnt seem that Harts was one of those players who clicked with those guys. I find it kind of odd that he is having a career year when both players are gone. Just my opinion but I dont know if thats truely the case.

Excluding this season...

Brown had 226 points (109 goals, 117 assists) playing in 322 games over the previous 4 seasons. Hartnell has 196 points (92 goals, 104 assits) having played 325 games.

i dunno, thought dubnyk was there if he one-timed it. had the puck not flipped up thought he'd have gone backhand cheese.
