we as fans demand a lot out of captains because from in the early years we had a good one. we want a captain that is true and will put out the effort on a nightly basis. one that will put himself out there from time to time (Clarke/Poulin/Primeau). they bought into the system, like it or not and showed the effort. when richie was on his game, he's top notch but off the ice he didn't want to be bothered. the whole hat thing was petty on all sides but it started with richards...the media just turned it into a forest fire. In philly that's a no-no...
now, life goes on, he's not on the team, does not wear orange and black...i don't root for him or against him. he's just another player....

Kings GM Dean Lombardi is reportedly telling his fellow general managers that Dustin Brown will not be traded. This contradicts a previous report from TSN's Bob MacKenzie, who stated that the Kings are willing to entertain offers for Brown. Brown would certainly be a useful addition to any team making a push for the Stanley Cup, so if it turns out that he is available, we think the Kings will get some pretty solid offers.
