You need young PROMISING kids like Cooties for low cap deals to be competative.

Especially when you are looking at a high priced D core. Cooties has hit a wall yes. However in his first season he is killing penalties against top players, has played very well with 4th line players on his wings and shown he will be a solid NHL player.

This isnt a Nodl. You can see the talent and hockey sense.

The only way IMO they trade him would be in some kind of mega-deal for a guy like Weber. I have to imagine, rookie wall or not, Couturier is one of the highest touted rookies/prospects in the league.

I would agree. Unless your getting back a true number one defenseman (who is in his prime) it makes no sense to deal a young kid like Couturier.
