Why not toss the pronger contract if we are stuck with it and he cant come back (I feel so bad for him still. Thoes interviews with his wife are awful). - FlyersFirst
Yeah, they are awful. I really feel for him, a lot of which has to do with him dealing with her. She seems like a REAL treat. Happy to take a backseat etc etc. She'll be the one who makes the call against him playing if it's even close, so it's nice of her to at least get out ahead of it and let us know he's donezo for next year. |

If there is an amnesty clause, I don't see him here anymore, if they could/would have signed him to a 3-4 years $4-5 million per, then he probably stays. - puckhead17
The thing it, I think it will be easy to get Bryz to waive his NMC... just as simple as sitting him on the bench and saying your not going to start...here or anywhere unless you waive... You cant do that to Briere, and because of family tied Briere would most likely say, I'm staying regardless.... Also, we dont have a replacement Goalie as much as we have 2 replacement centers... |

Because, in all practicality, if that is the circumstance it doesn't count against the cap. - bodiva88
Bo, you should have this responce on like a auto reply, or quick copy and paste.... You get to say it at least once a day.... |

The Flyers get a cap allowance to be over the cap for the amount of the injured players contract. Technically it counts, but it doesnt. |

Would any GM in their right mind take on Bryz's contract? |

LTIR allowance is not the same thing. It helps during the season to go "over the cap" But, as I understand it, we still have to be cap compliant (without LTIR) when the puck drops on opening day. Thus, I dont belive that you can use Pronger's cap hit to make a long term deal with another player that would put you over the cap. |

And Pronger would be placed on LTIR on day 1. The only time Pronger cap hit would hinder us is during the offseason, but you are allowed to be 10% over the cap at that point. |

Before the season, a team can be over the cap by 10 percent but that includes players who are going to start/spend season on LTIR.

If the new CBA allows the Flyers to rid themselves of one contract. Keeping a close eye on Bryz, I am using it on Briere. If Briere doesn't do anything in the playoffs and won't waive his NMC, I Redden his ass and have the kids play his minutes. But thats some chunk of change in Briere and Pronger the Flyers would choke on. - Just5
You can't Redden a NMC, especially if the player refuses to waive it. |

Correct. The best you can do is buy a guy out, like the Rangers did Captain Dreary. |

Ok so the only problem with Prong's contract from a cap perspective is that he eats up $4.9m of our 10% summer allowance ($6.4M if the cap were to stay the same) and since he can stay on LTIR on day one, we would be complaint. That makes sense and is a relief.
Ok, well then that said, i might consider using our CBA Amnisity on Bryz if he doesnt improve/become more consistant. I still have faith, however, that he will be ok. He look pretty good last night. |

And looking at the buyout calculator for Briere, I definitely would not consider that option. |

Danny will be fine come the playoffs. Plus he really did make a nice play to set up Jags to beat the Jets. |

No.
Drury considered grieving it because he claimed to be injured, and that caused an uproar, but then realized he'd get roughly the same money either way (and his business wouldn't be helped by bad feelings) so he went quietly. |
