Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Why trade Brown? IMO, LAK like Brown as "player," not as enthused about Brown as captain. IMO, only matter of time til Mike Richards gets C. - PLindbergh31
It will be interesting to see if Richards is named C out there, without the dramatists in the media shredding him. Not that that was his only issue, but the media was a factor here. |

John Stevens formers head coach of the Flyers could possibly have lobbed the Kings management to reunite The bash brothers.

Andy Murray. Terry Murray. Randy Carlyle. Of the top of my head, anyhow. - Jsaquella
Carlyle is interesting. Lemaire and Melrose as well. |

This isn't just a little hiccup. It's a prolonged slump of inadequate play. The last 20 games have been brutal. That's 1/4 of a season.
Not liking where things are heading. - PLindbergh31
I don't like it either. I noticed Briere hasn't scored since his hat trick against Ottawa in early January. Yes he's a playoff performer I get that but it's not that he hasn't been scoring but he's a hindrance defensively too. (See second goal last night.) Can't have the highest paid player taking a 1/4 of the season off and expect to win a lot. If he's hurt then LTIR him until the playoffs and use the relief to make another move before the deadline.
Also I think the moves on D are gonna take a couple more weeks until we get full efficiency due to everyone familiarizing themselves. |

Yes it is fair. I was discussing this on twitter last night. Laviolette has made some questionable calls, and really hasn't made adjustments that have helped to stem the tide of mistakes on defense. - Jsaquella
I think we're also underestimating the absence of Pronger disseminating Lavi's message to the rest of the troops. They need a liaison akin to Primeau with Hitchcock. Lose the liaison, lose the room. |

No Barry. Lemaire, if he wasn't so steadfastly retired, would be interesting. |

Yup. Although Richards performance on the ice doesn't warrant him becoming Captain. 1 goal in his last 26 games is just ridiculous. |

I literally turned the game off after the second goal. But from what Bill said Bryz played well after that...
I noticed on last nights goals that both goals happened when Bryz was standing up from the butterfly position to move across ice. I could be wrong, as I never played, or payed much attention to goaltending, but once Bryz goes down, wouldnt it be quicker AND safer to slide across the crease, with the pads down, and 5 hole blocked with the stick, instead of standing, moving, then trying to drop back down for a pad save?
Anyone that knows goaltending let me know if you noticed this. |

I thought Richards was a very quite guy? From reports in Philly he was a lead by example player on the ice and didnt say much in the locker room. Maybe I have been misinformed. - stveshdy
Quiet vs. vocal need not have anything to do with it. One thing about Richards that is tough to deny -- because there was so much smoke that there had to be some fire there -- is that there were cliques on the Flyers' teams he captained. At bare minimum, he did not do enough to bridge those gaps. At worst, he was a guilty party in creating the cliques in the first place.
I have no idea what's going on in LA. Just passing along something I've heard, that there is not a united leadership group in the Kings dressing room and some have gravitated to the guy with the C and others have gravitated toward Richards. |

That is possible, but Timonen and Briere are certainly capable of transmitting that message. Timonen has proven he's not a wallflower and Briere certainly isn't a quiet guy. |

I jest about Melrose. Lemaire would have this team playing 50 2-1 games a year. Not sure I could stand it. I guess if they won the majority of them I could live with it. |

How can you use a secondary scorer to lower a primary scorers price tag? This guys not even making sense.

I'm willing to bury the hatchet with Ritchie and Carter. I think the move was bad for LA and made a couple jokes on twitter about it but they gave us some good memories and I will try to root for those two guys out there. - JoeRussomanno
from all the teams that could've gotten Carter, it's comical he's going to LA. It is what it is...memories of them playing in the Flyers jersey will be there. I'm not going to root for them or against them. They play on another team. That's really it.

I'm sure he was asked for input, but as an assistant and not head coach, really wasn't in position to directly lobby for it. |

We go through this every year with Briere. He quietly puts up 60 regular season points per season, then blows up in the playoffs and is forgiven for a perceived lackluster 82 games.
Hopefully the trend continues this postseason, because he's on pace for less than 20 goals and 50 points this year. |

Perhaps, but do their charisma scores carry the weight that Pronger's does. Pronger's bonus is sorely missing.
Sorry. I was on a role-playing game site today too, so cross-over is to be expected. |

Just curious guys. Would you trade Braydon Coburn and Matt Read for Dustin Brown and a second? Use the approximate two million in space that opens up next year to keep Matty Carle. |
