Sure I don't- what he does in the locker room is his business. Maybe ballbusting does it for you, whatever..... - Leerock

You brought up your youtube crap of Sharpie in the locker room in the old days.

MY THOUGHTS ON NASH, HAWKS:
1) He is a better player than Sharp. Good big man versus good smaller man.
2) The Hawks, at this point, and in this market, would be insane to be seriously making a move for Nash. The teams that pose a real playoff threat to the Hawks (VAN, DET, SJ) can't afford him either.
3) I really think Howson needs to get a 1A goalie from this sell-off, unless he thinks he can get by with a better defense and Sanford. Mason was terrible last night. Still, I think Nash goes in the offseason, maybe to VAN for Schneider or Lack++ - John Jaeckel
If Van wanted to go for Nash now they could. Ballard is out with LTIR Capcussion 4.2 mil. ,Raymond 2.5 mil ,Schneider 1mil. That is 7.7 mil right there. Throw in Schroeder and a first then we are close to a deal.
Problem is Vancouver need a Dman and a agitator not Nash. |

sorry for being late to the party, but in all this discussion about Brassard, has the door completely closed on Sam Gagner? Ever since he exploded vs Hawks, there hasn't been much trade speculation. And then second question...who would you rather have...Brassard or Gagner? |

Brassard hands down! Gagner is a tad overrated in my book. The fact that he hit his season goal total in one night vs Hawks is a bit sad! Hawks don't need any more small players. |

If that's the case, maybe a good thing we lost to the Stars. If it makes them hesitant to trade... |

I was at the Wolves/IceHogs game last night.. The Bowmans were in the house.. both father and son.
Scotty- There is no way he can coach, he was walking around the horizon and look like he was beat down. I can't see him doing anything outside of what he was doing. (My only regret was to not ask for an autograph or take a photo!)
Stan- before the game, he was sitting up in the upper level watching warm-ups then left after...
As for the game, now this is a small sample size, so I understand that...with that said, I stayed focused on 3 players when they were on the ice Olesz, Morlin and Shaw...
Olesz, did nothing for me to see why he got the big money deal in FLA. I didn't see how the Hawks would bring him to Chicago, now.. or anytime soon. He looked over match against AHL players.
Morlin, was the C on the Olesz line played well, not great.
Shaw.. 3 times I saw him attempt to check someone and just get nothing but the boards. One of the times he left his feet to do this. Outside of that, it was hard to notice he was on the ice.
Overall, and again.. small sample size, didn't see anything that said.. this guy is someone that is going to be special in a couple of years that the Hawks can not afford to lose.

If I'm not mistaken, Vancouver doesn't have alot of cap room. They'd have to send back equal salary in any deal they make. It would almost seem to me that Gillis would have to really overpay to get just about anything done, unless he's going to trade that red-headed stepchild of a back-up goalie he has. |

I see that now. Capgeek doesn't have Ballard listed on LTIR. That makes sense now. |

Ducks have had a remarkable run given the lousy first 3 months of the season. But they will have to pass 5 teams with 2 of those: Stars and Kings in their division. With 21 left to go they probably need 30+ of the remaining 42 points just to have a chance for 8th. Don't see it happening. |

They call it that because Nucks used LTIR at the trade deadline last year to trade for Higgins and Lappiere. Then when the playoffs were ready to start they had their LTIR's return, which put them over the cap by around 4 mill. Gilis know the Cap doesn't count in the playoffs!! Sounds like he is up to his old tricks. We saw last year before game 7 he called a press conference to complain about how the Nucks were getting the short end of the calls against the Hawks. The Nucks organization is win at all costs. |

Good point. Also, Dallas traded Grossman, but are still in the playoff hunt. I can't see Dallas going far in the playoffs if they make it, and I'm sure their GM has to be thinking the same thing. I'd still bet both teams would be willing to move players, but I'd bet it take a bit more to get them. |

Cmon man Hawks put everything on the line 2 years ago to win at all costs.Lets keep it civil.
I am suprised more teams are not using that strategy sign up to the max and LTIR at TDL for more cap space. |

The asking price for Roy, Grabovski and Brassard all seems pretty consistent: rostered player, prospect and pick (and I think to win in any of these, the pick is going to have be a late 1st rounder). - John Jaeckel
Roy is an OK 1st line two way center who plays both special teams and is decent at the draw. Roughly a 30/40 guy.
Grabo is a meh 1st/good 2nd line center (more of a complementary player) who helps out the pp and is decent at the draw and holds his own defensively. Roughly a 30/30 guy.
Brassard is not yet productive enough to be a 2nd line center. Hes much much more physical than Roy/Grabo, however the difference between expectations/his contract and his execution has lead him to fall out of favor in Columbus. He is not on the same level as Roy or Grabo in any sense at all right now. Hes bad at the dot, bad defensively. Theres potential there, but the Hawks are trading for production the next 20 games (and hopefully 20+ more this summer). Brassard is not that guy (Vermette could have been that guy and was traded for nothing). |

What makes it even tougher on Bowman is the injury status to Toews, Hammer, Monty. Teams will look to take advantage of desperate GM's. My advise to Bowman is, know when to hold em, know when to fold em!! In my opinion Bowan is looking down at an unsuited jack - nine and he is betting out of position. |
