Maybe Bryan Allen. He's a big guy and can block some shots. There isn't much out there for D men. - Lido_Shuffle
Heard Carolina is looking to re-sign Allen now that Gleason and Ruutu have re-signed. We're geting down to slim pickins' already!! |

I have a theory regarding Stan holding on to first round picks.
He would need them if he were to offer sheet any RFAs in the summer.
Need one 1st and 1 3rd for any player making $3.1MM-4.7MM
Need one 1st one 2nd and one 3rd for any player making $4.7MM-6.3MM
Need two 1st one 2nd and one 3rd for any player making $6.3MM-7.8MM
Need four 1sts for anyone making over $7.8MM
Does Stan have any RFAs targeted for next season that would require him to conserve his picks for next summer? - Return of the Roar
I kinda doubt it. At least, not unless he's moving a core guy. We don't have the flexibility in our cap, no matter what people think. I suppose he could go after someone in option 1 above (3.1 to 4.7), but the high end of that is steep.
The Hawks WILL NOT be in on Suter or Weber I feel certain of that.
But maybe there is a lower range RFA of interest. Who knows at this point what Stanley is up to.

Agree on needing to move someone. The catch to offer sheets is that only your native picks can be used, not those acquired in trades. |

If the Wild are selling, maybe time to engage them about Cal Clutterbuck. His forechecking and hitting talent would be sweet. He's also under contract and wouldn't be cheap, but would be a hell of a get and allow salary flexibility to add a center or a d-man. |

if stan does not make any trades the hawks are likely to not make the playoffs
at that point his ineptitude will effect rockys bottom line and that will be the end of the stan bowman experiment |

I'm leaning towards SB doing nothing, and then talking up the kids as his reason for no acquisitions.
I also see the sellout streak coming to an end very soon. - ArlingtonRob
Sadly, this might be what is needed for front office change. |

The latest from Ek's rumor chart.
Strictly for entertainment purposes...
The Hawks to some varying degree of interest are "in" on:
Grabo, Zidlicky, Campoli, Burish Bernier, Bobrovski, Semin, Sanford, Niittymki, Boyes, and Hannan.
Any of those names do anything for anybody? - Ogilthorpe2
If the Hawks trade a 1st and a prospect for Grabo, and a prospect for Hannan I'd be very happy.
Unfortunately, I think StanBow is trying to build a dynasty all by himself through the draft and shrewd trade acquisitions. Leddy, Morin and Olsen is your future |

Holy sh!t.. That was a lot for Zidlicky..
Nobody can tell me that the defensive Devils liked Zidlicky to give that much up for him but he wouldn't have been good enough for the Hawks.. |

Actually, I think he is trying to build an organization that turns into a long-term winner...like Detroit.
That being said he can afford to take a big risk and still build the organization through the draft. |
