That's what I'm saying. This year can be a learning experience for all the youngins. I love Jagr but I'm not resigning. Maybe look at someone in the off season. Up the D. Bryz finds himself. Watch the f^*k out.

I wouldn't resign Jagr either. He's been pretty good this year, and has been a good teammate, but that 3.5 million or so can be spent on a younger player.

I'll pass on that. I'd only trade JVR if it brought immediate and long term help. Hes gpong to be a 30-40 goal scorer... as soon as next year id say. He will be a good fit with giroux if/when jagr doesnt resign.

I'd only resign if he took a pay cut. Who knows, maybe he'd do it for the stability. It doesn't sound like he's one to want to move around too much, although a few more millions from another team would certainly change those feelings I'd imagine.

If he takes a discount to stay, and he has at least given lipservice to likeing it in Philly and not being focused on money, he may be worth resigning. His health has been iffy but he has been effective recently.

The pay cut would have to be 1.5 mill. I want better D and a little more toughness up front.

I disagree. I want Jagr around to teach these guys. I think anything less than 2.5 would make me happy.

2 mill. That's it. And honestly if he wants to win a cup here and teach, then 1.5 should be plenty for a 40 year old. He isn't in it for the money anymore. He wants another cup.

It'd be disrespectful to completely low ball him though IMO. He does produce still... when he's healthy (which is his major drawback at this point). Maybe he'd be more ready next year for the rigors of a full NHL season next year with one under his belt already.

But, if his money makes or breaks a big upgrade on defense, I could live without him. I'd try to do whatever to fit both things though

Ott and their top prospect and a 1st ??

There is no way I would trade JvR to Dallas unless Jamie Benn was coming back in the deal.

#SNtrade. 3 teams that have heavy interest in #Stars Steve Ott are #Leafs #Flyers and #Canucks. Philly reluctant to move Van Riemsdyk

ummmm.... WTF? If JVR gets traded straight up for Ott, Holmgren should go for another bike ride, this time on 95

I would be livid

Well I was hoping Tampa would give the Flyers a little cusion in the standings, but they got thrashed by Malkin and the Peens. Flyers HAVE to step it up tonight and get the W to keep pace in the standings. Lose and they fall to the 6th seed. Win and they can hop over the Devils for 4th. Get R Done Philly

Calgary should be chomping at the bit too. They need a win to keep pace with Dallas for the 8th spot out west. Right now they are 2 points back in 9th with Dallas being idle today. Should be a hard fought game. Better be from the Philly side.

Then I wouldnt even waste time talking to Dallas. If they want JvR, I want Benn in return. We can deal other players but dont ask about JvR.

There is no reason the flyers can't win the division. I'M NOT SAYING IT WILL HAPPEN. I'm just saying, play to their talent and potential and the party is on Broad Street.
