yea i thought so i thought the rule is to prevent a scoring opportunity i thought he got a decent one off a slashing call would have been just fine - Slammed81
At most it should have been a minor. The "slash" didn't impede his scoring chance at all. |

When I went to bed, Jags hadnt' come back for the second period. Equipment? Injury? What? I'd hate to go to a game story and end up wanting to strangle a Philly hockey writer. |

They won despite Bryz, and then Bryz joined the rest of the team in stepping up his game at the end and for the shootout. It's a very strange dynamic. Clearly there's a disconnect with the players and Bryz, you can tell by their expressions when he lets in a goal. And then when Bryz steps up in the shootout, stopping the first 2, they can't get a goal for him. At some point everyone is going to be on the same page and sing koom bay ya......... - aosplayo
The entire team played poorly in the first. They were a mess on defense, and were not getting second chances. They were even worse in the early part of the 2nd. Then something clicked and they started to generate chances and get Kipper moving.
Regardless of the normal dumb analysis on this site, Bryzgalov played well after the 2nd goal. The third goal was off a horrible turnover and was a great shot. The penalty shot goal came off a stellar deke by Tanguay.
The second goal was brutally weak, but after it Bryzgalov refocused and played well. |

Laviolette was asked about line juggling in the second and he said it was not intentional, but that a few guys had skate issues. Specifically mentioned that Jagr lost an edge |

No, John. Please catch up. EVERY goal Bryz gives up is, by definition, weak. His teammates each have a voodoo doll of him and are using pins by the dozens trying to get him LTIRed. They're considering putting antifreeze in his water bottle. |

Actually if you want to strangle a Philly writer, read Carchidi's drivel about having to name a captain. |

Yeah, just like every goal the Flyers score is the result of brilliant, Gretzky like offensive skill and dominance. |

Yea he did. Like many I just wish they'd all get on the same page before going down a couple goals. Reminiscent of recent playoff series' when they would go down 1 or 2 goals and then "flip the switch". They all have no problem sucking together at the same time, and then it seems player by player they turn it on. Bryz is such an enigma, he let in the first 2 which I think were both soft, then he had some ridiculous saves to preserve the tie and then was great in the shootout.
No trade is going to fix that issue, I hope they don't do anything foolish. |

The one thing that really impresses me with this team versus previous Flyers teams is there ability to come back from behind. Despite below average goaltending, this team can score. I only wish that they could get some scoring out Briere on a consistent basis. Mind you if he does his thing in the playoffs I'm good with that.

Bryz needs to be better on the PK, no doubt. However, it is getting ridiculous guys just aren't getting the puck out when the opportunity presents itself. It is too easy to blame the goaltenders some times, the team defense since Pronger went down has been average at best. |

Yes, and we want to get goalies who give up 4 goals to the Flyers because they are clearly better than Flyers goalies who give up 4 goals. |

Dustin Leed put it best on twitter:
Dustin Leed @D_LEED
Team X needs this ; but player quotes don't back it up and Writer X makes no attempt to justify who it should be. I don't get it.
Naming a captain wouldn't hurt, but the column is high school paper quality in it's analysis and conclusions. |

Yep. Kipper had zero chance on any of the Flyer goals...no human could have stopped them. |

Bryz was just a product of the vaunted Phoenix trap and defensive system, he has no skill and sucks. Heck, everyone knows that Giguere did all the heavy lifting during the Cup run, Bryz was just drinking tea.
By the way, I put Bryz in against SJ on Tuesday.

I ride his ass until his legs fall off, personally...At this point, Bob's playing in back to back situations and if Bryz is sick or hurting. |

Ah, nice to see Bryz getting trown under the bus after a beautiful shootout win where he stops 5 of 6. F that guy. |

Carchidi is under the impression that the only player who had a bad game last night was Bryz. It's really unbelievable that he watches this stuff in person too. |

He said that they had a really good first period, but Bryz did not.
