rapping up 7.8 in Nash with all of the young plyrs they will have to pay is not a cause for concern for me...I'd actually enjoy watching sather dismantle a potential long stretch of cup contention. - isaiah520
Nash would give them 16 guys signed next year for approx 56 million |

that's a plan of failure for this yr. our goaltending this yr is worse than last yrs and there has to be a contingency plan. that does not imply that bryz can't bounce back nxt yr, but for this yr it's likely a pipe dream and homer owes the fans better than that.
I understand that to make such a move, homer would have to receive value for bob, but w/ carle looming as a ufa and the way this team is closing the GM has to try and balance doing better for this yr while not missing out on opps going forward. - isaiah520
I wouldnt trade Bob unless there was an offer that blew me out of the water. We should groom him so hes ready when bryz is done bc lets face it there is no way he is playing all 9 years. Look at detroit theuve gone from hasek to osgood. From Osgood to Howard. And next is from howard to mcdonald. Same with vancouver with luongo and schneider... boston with thomas and rask. I guess my point is if we trade bob now we'll be back in the same position in a couple of years. |

not really we can always draft another goalie or sign a back up |

Bryzgalov is signed to a 9 year deal, unless he is a total sunken cost, Bobrovsky isn't going to be anything more than a backup in Philadelphia. And Bobrovsky isn't in the same class as far as being a prospect as Bernier, Rask, or Schneider. |

Do it. Do it now if Howson is dumb enough.
They'll increase their chances greatly at winning the Cup this year. The hell with tomorrow. |

So hes gping to play until he's 40? I highly doubt that. And no Bob isnt in the same class as them yet. But how many games has he played in an nhl sized rink? Many less than the others you losted. I think we've all seen flashed of how good bob can be. |

Bobrovsky can develop into a potential # 1, but with the commitment the Flyers have made to Bryzgalov, it's very likely Bobrovsky won't ever be the full time starter here. It's not very feasible to have Bobrovsky start 20 games a year for the next 5-6 years. |

Keep bob in the ahl next year so he can have a steady workload see what kind of numbers he puts up. Have either Hovinen or a vet be the backup at a low cap hit. |

I'd stick with Moonbeam for the rest of the year and hope he gets his game together although I'm not hopeful. They can forget about winning 1-0 games. Even if the shore up the checking and PK, it might not be enough. This looks like a lost year. I wonder what Homer is thinking. |

So after completely ovethauling their roster what were you expecting? That we'd win the cup this year? |

It wasn't a realistic expectation. Too many new players and a bunch of rookies in the lineup. You had to know there were going to be bumps in the road this season. |

Absolutely. Between 6-7 rookies in the lineup most of the year. That's a ton of youth and mistakes are to be expected.
They have cut the number of rookies down by 2 with the additions of the two veteran d-men. Their blueline has all veterans now, if Bryzgalov can steady his play, this team can still make itself a tough out in the playoffs. |

It was totally expected after they went out and spent so much to stabilize their goaltending situation.

Once Pronger was lost for the season, that adjusted my expectations. Simply no way to overcome it. |

With a heathy Pronger and with a goalie who played up to expectations, the "overhaul" of the roster was the least of their problems. I expected that they could make a run for the Cup. Now, without Pronger and freakshow goaltending, my expectations are very low. |
