So what are the rumored goalies for the morning? Clearly something is coming in the morning... goalie? forward? big? small?
Opinions? - Flyers2821
if anything, they add a checking forward who can win some draws. |

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but do you really feel that we are 1 role-player away from making a serious run? The defense and goaltending is nowhere near consistent enough to make a long run. Bryz has shown no signs of getting on a streak, which is almost required for a Cup run. On top of that, the offense still goes through slumps where they make mediocre goalies look like the 2nd coming of .
I'm not saying they can or can't get hot. I'm simply saying that 1 player is likely not going to change this team's destiny. If they want to make a run, the current core + goaltending need to step it up and bring their A game. No Ott or Gaustad is going to change that. - steelydan
From what I've just taken from your statement you think we can't get hot is exactly what you're saying. My response is simple. You're wrong. It's mid season and all it takes is one important player and this team getting back on track to get where we need to be. 2010 proves just that. |

Almost anything is possible once the playoffs start. I think the Flyers actually have a decent roster now. Grossman and Kubina are solid additions and we now have at least 3 guys who can step into the 6 spot in case of injuries. Here is what has to happen for the Flyers to make it past the first round.
1) Bryz and Bob have to become far more reliable
2) The PK absolutely has to get it's act together
3) The PP needs to be tweaked
4) Jagr needs to stay healthy
5) JVR needs to get healthy(ier) |

Yup. That too. 26th in the league right now. Can't be chasing the puck ALL the time. |

There is much more coming than that. Flyers have never been a team to slow play anything... especially when they have one of the bigger stacks at the table. There is something big coming in the morning. Take it to the bank. These "rental" d-men are not all they had in mind. Not a chance in hell. |

Not even that. Less shots will be directed at our net if this is cleaned up a bit. In my mind, this is the biggest issue. Forget goaltending for one second. In my mind after Bryz allowed those 2 early goals, he really showed a strong mindset. The moment he found his game, it took the team time to get it together. If anything, Bryz bought the team time to come back. Then the Tanguay penalty shot was a blessing in disguise. In my opinion, that got Bryz ready for the shootout.
Bryz deserves full marks in my opinion. |

I disagree. I think they made their moves. I have a feeling it will be all quiet for the Flyers tomorrow. A big move for this team doesn't make sense and by that, I mean there will not be a Rick Nash trade by the orange and black. |

No guarantee a shot comes from a lost face-off but for sure you are chasing the puck. It's not the quantity or quality of shots right now with Bryz. He let in 2 goals on his first 2 shots yesterday. The Flyers are 8th in the league in shots allowed. It's a head space, confidence thing right now with him. Less shots/more shots isn't going to fix it imo. |

So I'm working an overnight right now. Got into work at 7pm and don't get out until 7am and then I have to go straight to med school. I would have thought that maybe there would be something going on, but nope. It's dead on all fronts. I know that everybodyis probably resting up for the big day, but damn, no tweets, posts, news... nada. And I'm really bored. So much so I'm watching Outbreak here at work (I'm dispatching for the FD). |
