the flyers goaltending is the football equiv of a QB that's virtually guaranteed to throw 1 or 2 picks every game. makes it harder for everybody else on the team...undeniable. |

look at his shoulder and bicep looks out of proportion to me - 2Real
His trapezius looks almost undeveloped compared with the rest of his body. There's something funky going on with that picture. |

The goaltending hasnt been very good. Routine shots need to be stopped thats why they upgraded to Bryz and got rid of Leighton/Boucher combo. There is no defending those "soft goals". The Flyers need Bryz to step up if they want to have a chance this year. Do I think every goal he gives up is on him? Nope. I do agree it can be draining on a team when you continue to let in questionable goals. I dont see how the Flyers are going to be able to fix that at this point into the season. The team as a whole needs to be better and the goaltending needs to step up and make the saves it should. - stveshdy
Of course every goal isn't on Bryzgalov, whoever implies that would be an imbecile, the fact of the matter is there are routine shots every game that are ending up in the Flyers net.
First two goals last night are a perfect example of that. Yes, Bryzgalov played well after those goals, and was good in the shootout. Thing is against the top teams in the NHL allowing any soft goals is usually fatal, let alone two. |

Lindros, Eric + LeClair, John
Giroux, Claude + ?? - I'm not advocating the trade, I can see the logic behind it. Hartsy has been great and unless he really stinks next year, he will be resigned. Nash is on the level of LeClair as a goal scorer. - ravishingone

I hope you're right, but if the Flyers move JVR before the deadline, they didn't think he would become LeClair.

He needs to be better. In the playoffs "soft goals" will have you heading home. You cant continue to play behind in every single game either. |

Only way I see the Flyers dealing JvR is in a package to get Weber (offseason/next year). They have to use him to acquire a defenseman IMO. They upgraded with Grossman and Kubina for now so I dont see JvR going anywhere either. |

I'm ok moving JVR, but it has to be for a top pairing dman that could replace carle. in fact, the assets we receive by moving carle could defray a lot of the cost. homer would have to play his cards close to the vest, though. |

So is blaming him for every single goal that he allows. But it still happens, doesn't it? - Jsaquella
Anybody that knows a lick about hockey isn't blaming him for every single goal. Even the best are going to give up questionable goals now and then. What concerns me about Bryz is his form. I'm not a goalie nor do I play one on TV but I've been watching them for 45 years give or take. He looks unstable and seems to struggling with his position in the crease. How can a big guy luck so small? There doesn't seem to any control over the rebounds either. Maybe I'm off base but if the Flyers braintrust is seeing like it me they gotta be worried sick. |

Not trying to be a troll, but what is Carle worth with him being an UFA? I'm not really sure, that is why I am asking.

I look at what we paid for Kubina and Grossman. Then I see that Detroit gave up a 1st for Quincey. If the Flyers were sellers they could land some nice picks/prospects for Carle IMO. |

k, if he is moved, I guess the organization feels Bourdon can handle 14-15 minutes a night as the 6th defensemen. I honestly don't know what is going to happen with Carle.

if we offered carle to just say, CHI, right now he might be able to fetch a #1 and a prospect. now is the only time we could get value for him, but I would only do it as part of a larger strategy to bring in a young d replacement that has already proven himself to some degree. everyone here knows I like subban...others consider that name a curse word |

Breeze is playing well under his expectations. Nobody is arguing that. That said, it still doesn't absolve everybody else from doing their job either.
The second goal last night was stoppable. It was also defendable but wasn't. The blame should be equally shared at times. |

I respectfully disagree that he is playing well. The place the Flyers are in the standings is certainly respectable. Heading into the season I would be happy if I was told they would be in the 4-6 position with 20 games left in the season. That being said I thought they could struggle to find offense losing Richards, Carter, Leino, in my wildest dreams I never thought they would be at the top of the NHL in scoring. If was told that, I would think with the "upgrade" in net they would be contending for a President's Trophy. |

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Obviously possible Rick Nash could move by tomorrow but it were close in any way do you think CBJ would've played him today?
Good point by Bob Mac. If anything was close with Nash, he wouldn't have played today. |
