That offer had to be a deadline joke. Who in their right mind offers Nitty when he was put on waivers earlier this year. Terrible offer. Trade deadline is exactly that so far, dead.

I couldn't be happier about today so far. I think the Flyers should stand pat unless it is a deal for a defensive veteran forward for a pick or a minor leaguer.

All the other stuff will be just gravy.

Last year, there were two trades made before 1 PM. This is the way it is with the proliferation of three point games, combined with the salary cap. Not enough clear sellers.

Phoenix isn't trading Tony Amonte anymore, because they can't afford him.

Last year there was still only 2 trades at this time ...the 3rd trade didn't happen till 12:50. There ended up being 16 trades ..not a lot of deals but still mostly happened in the afternoon. So hopefully it picks up like expected.

There will be trades announced up until 5pm or even a bit later. Trade calls have to be into NHL by 3 pm, always late deals getting announced.
