carle is moved to a team like CHI for a #1 pick and a prospect(s), then those assets are used to defray the cost of acquiring a young dman. JVR would have to be part of the deal.

the only reason to do it today would be to take advantage of carle's value, because it will never be higher. the young dman acquired, a subban-type, would be ready to play now and the flyers would be able to avoid the over-pmt circus of July 1.

not a likely scenario, but at least a logical thought process, imo.

yeah, i think listening on offers for carle is worthwhile for homer if he can turn carle into a younger asset(s) that can contribute here for at least a few years.
