I honestly dont think Wellwood has anything to do with the Flyers making a move. Homer made two decent trades already and I dont know if he is going to pull the trigger on anything else before the deadline is over.

Wellwood did not have to be on #Phantoms' roster til March 5 to be eligible for AHL playoffs. He was sent to ADR today. #Flyers

The issue was with the roster spot. If he stayed on roster they'd have little wiggle room in case of injury. As far as his relevance, he's a solid you grinder, with decent speed. If he didn't have to go back down today due to the CBA, it's likely he would have remained with team.
