What's your opinion on staying put today? - coffee junkie
I figured they were pretty much done after Grossman and Kubina. Homer would exercise his due diligence but unless a "knock your socks off" deal came along he was staying pat. All the goalie hype was sheer ridiculosity.

It's basically all riding on Bryz as to how far we go in the playoffs. |

I'm pretty surprised the Flyers didn't address the need for a PK Center who can win faceoffs.
Using Giroux constantly on the PK, isn't the best of ideas. |

I bet Tampa wishes they would have kept Kubina

I think that its all riding on every single player. I hate pointing the finger at one guy.. yes Bryz has been good this year.. but neither has the team defense. Giroux continues to force passes and make stupid plays.. it continues to give the other team prime scoring chances. Yes it would be nice for Bryz or Bob to make a save on those from time to time and to stop letting in softees, but the team in general needs to play better top to bottom. |

Ill pass on it.. as it seems 29 other teams did. If it was the right deal than yes... but to give up what it would cost, and than have that 7.8 mil of space taken up would be tough to swallow. |

It can certainly factor into wearing him down over the course of a season, but I like him there to keep teams honest. He is always a threat for a shortie. Assuming they don't plummet in the standings, they would do well to spot him on PK occasionally down the stretch drive. Try to keep him a bit fresher for the playoffs, where he finds that extra gear.

Who were they going to unload to fill that need? They used up all of their cap space to shore up the blue line -- which was an even greater need.
They can find their 4th line center in the off-season. But it's definitely a need. |

No question about it. Oh well, as Coach Norman Dale said in Hoosiers, "This is your team" |
