they did get the best player in the deal, though. - isaiah520
Yes they did. Can't argue that. Was just pointing out that they were already a small team up front and they got even smaller with these two deals.
That said, at this point it is pretty unlikely that they're really going anywhere this year, so the picks and a young playmaker were probably more important to them than size right now. |

Happy JVR and all the kids are still here, not so happy we didnt pick up a goalie. With nabby offlimits i guess there wasnt anything worth grabbing. If nabby was available im pretty sure homer would have jumped. That being said, i dont feel confident with bryzgoofov in net.
Hes not just going to flip a switch and start playing like phoenix bryz. If he cant handle pressure of regular season ,,just wait till the playoffs start when the games intensify and the crowds get even crazier. |

I dont think Homer ever had any intention of getting a another goalie.

I know everyone is worried about this year. But I think bryz will be a beast after this year |

Agreed, and I wouldn't have either unless Giguere could've been had for a small price, which I seriously doubt.
Bryz is our #1 regardless. |

He could be a beast in the playoffs for all we know. People just need to keep an open mind and remember that this guy was a player in Phoenix. |

He has said exactly that in his interviews posted on the Flyers' web site. At this point, since he didn't get one, he almost has to say that, but I think it's the truth. Not that he wouldn't have entertained the idea if someone had offered him the right deal, but as he said several times, nobody offered them anything that they felt made them a better team. |

Bottom line is that we have two choices now. We can be fans, get behind Bryz and this team and will them to success. Or we can be WIP sheeple, go full negative and try to run the guy out of town. You are with the team, or you are with the media.

To me, it looks like Boston (much as I hate to say so) did well for themselves today.
Rolston sure hasn't done much this year for the Isles, but he's a solid, character vet that gives them forward depth for the playoff push and a fill-in until Horton comes back. Could be sort of a Recchi lite.
Zannon and Mottau bolster their D (which probably means Boychuck is out for a while - not exactly a shock after looking at that hit).
And they really didn't give up much in the process. Kampfer only played 10 or so games for them. |

They did ok. Rolston is useless these days. |

Agreed. His value is probably more as a leader than as a guy expected to put up points now. But he should be able to keep Horton's spot warm for him, and might get a boost from suddenly being on a favorite.
On a day when nobody really did anything too noteworthy, I think the Bruins probably helped themselves the most today. The 'Nucks didn't do too badly either, but again more depth signings. No top line players. |

At Daytona one of the race cars ran into the jet blower truck that was blowing debris off the track and it burst in to huge flames.
Something I have never seen before. |

Going to post tomorrow's game blog a little earlier than normal because I will not get a chance to write it in the morning. It should be up in about 45 minutes to an hour from now.
