Ok, bad analogy... Geez. Still don't want him and he is still not anywhere near worth JVR.
Serious question: Why do so many people want to see JVR traded? - Flyers1218
I dont wanna see him traded unless its for a great return. And the second part of that statement has a lot of ppl excited.
Unless we are getting a young top end d-man i wouldnt think of trading him. |

seriously. he literally gets triple the ice time rinaldo does, kills penalties, wins a ton of draws, is good for about 40 points a year and is obviously a super pest. - OrangeBlack27
Ott is a nice player. If the Flyers could add him somewhat reasonably I would be super interested in him. |

I don't want to see him dealt, but it's obvious that he's the guy they are willing to listen to offers for. |

Bobby Mack... Not done, but AK74 to Nashville sounds like. Incarcerated Bob broke that one first. |

Absolutely. You just don't trade a guy with JvR's potential for Steve Ott. |

I agree. If Carle moves, it'll likely be to a team like Vancouver, with Ballard out. - Jsaquella
That would make a ton of sense for the Nucks. |

If the flyers were to trade JVR for Subban I am taking my ball and going home. I want no parts of that head case. Talented? Yes, but I don't trust him. - bird_dog
his "issues" are a total media creation. he's an outstanding player and probably not even near the prime of his career yet. a player like that is what i'd imagine homer would be looking for if teams really want to get their hands on jvr. that being said, i'm sure subban is one of the only habs who is unavailable. |

SN reporting Leafs are offering a package including Lupul for Nash. Wtf, overpayment much? |

As much as I don't want JVR moved, certainly the development of Simmonds, Coots, and Schenn makes him less painful to lose. Even if Jagr decides not to return, the top 6 is still very deep. Also, Hartnell has had a career year, which certainly has been a pleasant suprise. |

Why is this concept so hard for people to get. Why would anyone EVER consider trading a former #2 overall pick that had a monster playoff and a good year when healthy for.......... a grinder, who wins faceoffs. Might as well trade our 1st for Gaustad then. |

Depends on what the rest of the package is. Nash is infinitely better than Lupul. |

i think nash is overrated, but lupul's value will never be higher and imo he'll never again have a seen like he's having this year. |

I don't want a guy that his teammates can't stand him and he ends up fighting them every other practice. We had that already and he is now moved on and destroying another lockerroom. |

What did they give up to get him? Didnt they trade him to Colorado the first time around? |

At the end of the day, I think Nash stays or the Rags pony up with MDZ and land him............ thus destroying that team for years to come (YESSSSS)! |

Lupul's finally been healthy, but certainly his injury history would be a concern. I don't think Lupul would be the centerpiece, but added to make the salaries even out.

To steal bodiva's word, it's the "Ooooohhh Shiny!" factor, combined with something Bill mentioned a short while ago-the grass is greener theory.
People see a guy like Ryan Suter have a few good games against the Flyers, and immediately he's Bobby Orr to Matt Carle's Doug Crossman.
Ott is a lesser version of that. People see JvR struggling and figure that he's not going to ever reach his potential, while ignoring that John LeClair didn't do much until he was 24 or 25 and JvR's developmental path was not as geared towards fast development as a guy like Kane. |
