Can't they just take Bryz "out back" as they say? - Flyers1218
To clarify, you're suggesting the Flyers have Ilya Bryzgalov euthanized? |

stop it. - hammarby31
I deserved that one. I was up all night doing an overnight for work and now I'm waiting between classes with my 5th cup of coffee.. I'm over exhausted, yet full of energy. Bad combo. |

Hi Bryz... The object to this game is to chase the dragon... just sit back, relax... and chase the dragon... It will solve all your problems...
I feel like a jerk for writing that lol |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Trade Deadline Day - bmeltzer
When all is said and done, JvR better be a Flyer after 3pm.
While some have already disagreed with me, I feel a big defensive minded center who's good at face offs and can play the PK would make all the difference in the world for the Philadelphia Flyers.
So much blame is thrown in Bryz is direction but I feel Bryz deserves full marks for the win in Calgary. Hopefully his contract becomes a lot like his play in that one game. Rough start and then only got better and better. In my opinion after Bryz allowed 2 soft goals, he really pulled his game together. He then bought the team time by playing so solid between the pipes that the team then followed his lead. Let's not forget, the team wasn't that great either. Bryz had to be good first though. Last, I think that Penalty Shot was a blessing in disguise. In that one moment, it got Bryz ready for the shoot out and did I not see the two pad stack? Right then and there I knew we were going to win it.
Sorry if Bill has already pointed out all of this points. I haven't read the blog yet. I just want to get right into the trades. |

Tampa traded Downie for him and then sent him to Detroit for a 1st rounder - Jsaquella
So basically it was Downie for him.. then a 1st for him.
So either a Downie or a 1st.
Imagine what we could get for Carle |

Good to see Boston get hit with the injury bug. Horton, Peverley, Corvo, and Boychuk. |

We want to hope that Bob is on the money because he's got the Rags getting Nash and ruining any chance of them putting together a consistently competitive team over the next few years. What is it with Sather, the guy can't resist. |

You could add guys like Bob, MaB, Gusy, Sestito, Rinaldo, Wellwood, and Harry Z to that list as well.. I think the # of guys 25 or under who have played for the flyers this year is 15. - jak521
Agreed, a mere two years ago, the Flyers had supposedly one of the worst farm systems in the league. A few trades later, some really good college free agent signings, and better organizational depth then realized, suddenly the face of the organization has dramatically changed for the younger.

he's hit and miss. He said the Nash deal was done with the Rags and would be announced Saturday night after the game, or Sunday. |

I have been defending Bryz to the hilt since the start... But after this road trip I am getting a little frustrated myself... I mean.. Your telling me he had a good performance AFTER he let in 2 soft goals.... Has it gotten so bad that you have to say, "well at least he played well after he screwed the pooch... thats something to build on..."? He has let in too many soft goals, in every game... I can handle a soft goal here and there, but at lest 2 in the last 4 games? Just really bad when you have to defend a guy by saying at least he was good after he sucked really bad.... |

Agree, I'm not advocating moving JVR, but the development of the young forwards has been very impressive. The Flyers actually have a ridiculous amount of talented forwards under the age of 25.
-Roo
-JVR
-Simmonds
-Voracek
-Read (I know he is 25)
-Coots
-Schenn
A very impressive list. - ravishingone
dont forget nick cousins even tho he is still in jrs he looks nice over 70 pts and 70 pm |
